Meta AnalysisNeoadjuvant PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors for Resectable Head and Neck Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
The emerging approach of neoadjuvant immunotherapy for solid cancers has set the ground for the integration of programmed cell death 1 (PD-1)/PD-1 ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors into the neoadjuvant setting of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) treatment. ⋯ In this systematic review and meta-analysis, neoadjuvant anti-PD-1/PD-L1 immunotherapy for resectable HNSCC was well tolerated and may confer therapeutic advantages implied by histopathological response. Long-term outcomes are awaited.

Meta AnalysisAssociation of Central Noninvasive Brain Stimulation Interventions With Efficacy and Safety in Tinnitus Management: A Meta-analysis.
Tinnitus has a prevalence of 10% to 25% and is frequently associated with numerous complications, such as neuropsychiatric disease. Traditional treatments have failed to meet the needs of patients with tinnitus. Noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS) can focally modify cortical functioning and has been proposed as a strategy for reducing tinnitus severity. However, the results have been inconclusive. ⋯ This network meta-analysis suggests a potential role of NIBS interventions in tinnitus management. Future large-scale RCTs focusing on longer follow-up and different priming procedure NIBS are warranted to confirm these findings.

Meta AnalysisLingual Tonsillectomy for Treatment of Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea: A Meta-analysis.
Evidence indicates correlations between lingual tonsil hypertrophy and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, to our knowledge, a meta-analysis of surgical outcomes for lingual tonsillectomy in children with OSA has not been conducted. ⋯ Lingual tonsillectomy is an effective surgical management for children with OSA caused by lingual tonsil hypertrophy, and it achieves significant improvement in the AHI and the minimum oxygen saturation. However, children frequently have residual OSA after lingual tonsillectomy, and postoperative complications must be carefully managed.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyElective Neck Dissection vs Observation in Early-Stage Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Oral Tongue With No Clinically Apparent Lymph Node Metastasis in the Neck: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
The elective management of no clinical or radiologic evidence of lymph node metastasis in the neck (cN0) in early stage T1-T2 oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC) has been the subject of much debate during the past 3 decades and continues to be controversial. ⋯ The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis indicate that END can significantly reduce the rate of regional nodal recurrence and improve DSS in patients with cT1T2N0 OTSCC.

Review Meta AnalysisAssociation Between Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Spontaneous Cerebrospinal Fluid Leaks: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks are a morbid condition associated with operative intervention for treatment. Understanding associations are key to diagnosis, treatment, and possible early detection. ⋯ The association between OSA and spontaneous CSF leaks as demonstrated by retrospective studies is confounded by heterogeneous patient characteristics. Large prospective controlled studies using polysomnography and elevated intracranial pressure measurements are required to further evaluate the relationship between OSA and spontaneous CSF leaks.
