Balint groups' possible role in self-care and job satisfaction of general practitioners-A qualitative study.
Concerns are growing when it comes to the shortage of primary care physicians, therefore it seems necessary to take a closer look at job satisfaction and self-care as one of many influences on career choice. A higher job satisfaction reduces the risk to experience burnout and job-related stress and in addition it will contribute to staying in the profession. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of regular participation in Balint groups on job satisfaction and self-care among general practitioners. ⋯ The results of the study give rise to the assumption that regular participation in Balint groups might help to improve self-care, resilience, and contribute to job satisfaction. Further research is needed before a general recommendation can be made. Many positive aspects were described by the experts, while no harmful negative influences of Balint work were identified.

Predictors of 7-day mortality in critically ill patients with hyperglycemic crisis : A single center retrospective analysis.
The main aim of the study was to identify point of care available laboratory and clinical predictors of 7‑day mortality in critically ill patients with a hyperglycemic crisis. ⋯ Our data showed that elevated lactate levels were associated with higher mortality in all types of hyperglycemic crises.

A comic that explains palliative care: how patients experience comic-based educational material.
The aim of this study was to create a patient-centered comic on palliative care with and for patients admitted to a palliative care unit and to examine their experiences of graphic educational material. ⋯ The results of the present study offer insights into mostly positive reactions of patients when presented with a comic about palliative care. The study showed how illustrated educational information led to deepened conversation among the interviewer and the patients, offering insights into their experiences and imagination.

Aim of this article is to give an overview of the technical background and the advantages of modern devices for different applications of cryoablation in cranio-orbital neurosurgery. The treatment of orbital lesions is complicated by the complex and potentially inapparent anatomy due to retro-orbital fat. ⋯ Their use has been described in several different approaches including traditional lateral or transcranial orbitotomy but also anterior transconjunctival as well as transnasal endoscopic approaches. Recently, single-use devices were introduced that allow the use of cryosurgery also without the need for large investment or service costs.
