Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease worldwide. Owing to the complexity of NAFLD pathogenesis, there is still no specific medication for NAFLD that is safe and effective. Yinchenwuling Powder (YCWLP), a classic Chinese formula, has been widely applied to NAFLD and its efficacy has been proven in numerous studies. However, systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of YCWLP for NAFLD is still lacking. ⋯ The efficacy and safety of YCWLP in treating NAFLD will be proved, providing feasible and effective clinical recommendations for the treatment of NAFLD.

Anal fistula is one of the most common diseases in anorectal surgery. The wound healing after surgery can affect the prognosis of patients. We conducted a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine for reducing wound complications after anal fistula surgery. ⋯ This study may provide more convincing evidence to help clinicians make decisions when dealing with anal fistula patients after surgery.

Wound infection (WI) is a disease in which pathogenic bacteria invade and multiply in a wound after trauma or surgery, causing a systemic inflammatory response. WI triggers an immune response in the body, resulting in inflammation and tissue damage, as well as slowing down the healing process. The traditional Chinese medicine prescription of Wuwei Xiaodu Drink (WWXDD) has been widely used in clinical practice with good results. However, there is no high-level evidence to support this result. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of WWXDD in the treatment of WI. ⋯ This research provides a trusted clinical foundation for the treatment of WI with WWXDD.

The cause of schizophrenia is still unknown, the course of the disease is long and its onset is thought to be related to neurodevelopmental, genetic, and oxidative stress factors and so on. There is no means of cure. Typical drug therapy is effective in treating the acute stage of schizophrenia, while the impaired social and life functions of patients are often neglected. Baduanjin is a traditional Chinese physical and breathing exercise that not only strengthens the muscles, and moves the joints, but also exercises the will. Many studies have been reported in the study on the application of Baduanjin to schizophrenic patients to promote recovery, but no research systematically evaluates the therapeutic effects and safety of Baduanjin for schizophrenic patients. This study aims to systematically investigate the efficacy and safety of Baduanjin in the treatment of schizophrenic patients. ⋯ The conclusions of this study will help clarify whether Baduanjin is effective and safe for treating schizophrenia.

Although the combination of blood-activating herbs and western drugs has shown advantages in the treatment of ischemic stroke, there is no consensus on the safety and efficacy. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination of blood-activating herbs with edaravone (EDA) in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). ⋯ This study will clarify the safety and efficacy of the combination of blood-activating herbs with EDA in the treatment of AIS.
