Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Clinical Trial
A randomized comparison of sentinel-node biopsy with routine axillary dissection in breast cancer.
Although numerous studies have shown that the status of the sentinel node is an accurate predictor of the status of the axillary nodes in breast cancer, the efficacy and safety of sentinel-node biopsy require validation. ⋯ Sentinel-node biopsy is a safe and accurate method of screening the axillary nodes for metastasis in women with a small breast cancer.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Clinical Trial
A randomized trial of bevacizumab, an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor antibody, for metastatic renal cancer.
Mutations in the tumor-suppressor gene VHL cause oversecretion of vascular endothelial growth factor by clear-cell renal carcinomas. We conducted a clinical trial to evaluate bevacizumab, a neutralizing antibody against vascular endothelial growth factor, in patients with metastatic renal-cell carcinoma. ⋯ Bevacizumab can significantly prolong the time to progression of disease in patients with metastatic renal-cell cancer.
