Multicenter Study Controlled Clinical TrialEffects of a playground marking intervention on school recess physical activity in French children.
Playground interventions offer an opportunity to enhance school recess physical activity. We aimed to assess the effects of playground marking on objectively measured school recess physical activity in French children. ⋯ Painted playground markings had a positive short-term effect on school recess physical activity levels.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyDisparities in alcohol use: does race matter as much as place?
National estimates of race differences in alcohol use suggest that whites are more likely to be current and binge users of alcohol. These findings fail to account for race differences in the social and environmental context where people live. This study aims to determine whether race disparities persist in alcohol use among individuals who share similar social and environmental conditions. ⋯ Among individuals who share similar social and environmental risk exposures, race group differences in alcohol use patterns are similar.

Multicenter StudyImplementation and impact of anti-smoking interventions in three prisons in the absence of appropriate legislation.
To assess the acceptability and impact of anti-smoking policies in three prisons in Switzerland. ⋯ Reinforcement of non-smoking rules was possible in only one of the three prisons but had an impact on exposure to tobacco smoke and medical help to quit. Implementing anti-smoking policies in prisons is difficult in the absence of appropriate legislation.

Multicenter StudyEffectiveness of hand hygiene and provision of information in preventing influenza cases requiring hospitalization.
The objective of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions in preventing cases of influenza requiring hospitalization. ⋯ Frequent handwashing should be recommended to prevent influenza cases requiring hospitalization.

Multicenter StudyScreen time, physical activity and mental health among urban adolescents in China.
To test the association between screen time (ST), physical activity (PA) and self-reported psychological problems among urban adolescents aged 11 to 16 years. ⋯ High ST and insufficient VPA interact to increase depressive, anxiety symptoms and school life dissatisfaction among Chinese adolescents.
