Randomized Controlled Trial[Prevention of hypotension during spinal anesthesia for elective caesarean section: Coloading with HAE 130/0.4 vs normal saline solution.]
The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of HES 130/0.4 coloading compared to normal saline solution for prevention of hypotension during spinal anesthesia for elective caesarean section. ⋯ HES 130/0.4 coload was more effective than normal saline solution to prevent hypotension following spinal anesthesia for elective cesarean section. HES 130/0.4 coload reduced the incidence, the duration of longest hypotension, the need for ephedrine and the adverse maternal effects.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[About laryngeal mask: Is the lowest price material the better cost-efficacy choice?]
The main goal of this study was to achieve a medico-economic comparison between four disposable laryngeal masks (LM) (LMA-Unique™, Ambu AuraOnce™, I-Gel™ and LMA-Suprême™). ⋯ Despite their better efficiency and safety, the latest generation laryngeal masks are still expensive in spite of a low rate of complication. These results do not take into account very rare and severe complications not met in this study in the limited size; then the economic and medical impact can influence the choice beyond the simple analysis cost-efficiency.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyDoes sevoflurane preserve regional cerebral oxygen saturation measured by near-infrared spectroscopy better than propofol?
The aim of this study was to compare the effect of sevoflurane and propofol on cerebral oxygenation, using regional cerebral oxygen saturation (SrO2) measured by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). ⋯ Cerebral cortical oxygenation measured by NIRS may be better preserved with sevoflurane than with propofol. These findings suggest that sevoflurane anaesthesia could be a good option in patients with compromised cerebral oxygenation, given the absence of intracranial hypertension. Further studies with larger sample sizes are required to support our results.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Use of a single-use fiberscope for the training in tracheal intubation under fiberscopy on labyrinth.]
To evaluate a single-use fiberscope, the Ascope-Trainer, for the training in the intubation under fiberscope. ⋯ Because its use is similar to the standard fiberscope, the Ascope-Trainer may be interesting for this type of training.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffect of patient-controlled sedation with propofol on patient satisfaction: A randomized study.
In this trial we sought to determine whether propofol-based patient-controlled sedation (PCS) during diagnostic cerebral angiography would result in improved patient satisfaction compared to placebo-based PCS. ⋯ This prospective, double-blind, randomized study showed that sedation using propofol PCS did not improve patients' satisfaction during diagnostic cerebral angiography. Therefore, an anesthetist should be rapidly available on request but not necessarily present during the whole procedure.
