Observational Study
Maintenance of weight loss or stability in subjects with obesity: a retrospective longitudinal analysis of a real-world population.
Characterize patterns of weight change among subjects with obesity. ⋯ Weight cycling and regain were commonly observed. Subjects losing the most weight during the initial period were more likely to continue losing weight.

A systematic literature review on systemic light chain (AL) amyloidosis was conducted in order to understand the disease burden, and identify unmet medical needs and knowledge gaps. ⋯ There is a deficiency in the literature on the economic costs associated with AL amyloidosis, and information on costs has been derived from studies that examined multiple myeloma or other disease or treatment components common to AL amyloidosis.

To estimate the healthcare costs and characteristics of docetaxel chemotherapy episodes of care for men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). ⋯ The majority of docetaxel episode costs in Medicare and commercial mCRPC populations were non-docetaxel drug costs. Future research should evaluate the total cost of care in mCPRC.

Review Comparative Study
Evaluating the costs of glycemic response with canagliflozin versus dapagliflozin and empagliflozin as add-on to metformin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the United Arab Emirates.
This study evaluates the cost of achieving glycemic control with three sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, canagliflozin, dapagliflozin, and empagliflozin, in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from the payer perspective in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). ⋯ Canagliflozin may provide a greater glycemic response at a lower effective cost than dapagliflozin or empagliflozin for patients with T2DM inadequately controlled with metformin from the payer perspective in the UAE.

Recent studies have suggested shared comorbidities between heart failure and osteoporosis. In addition, patients with osteoporosis are associated with increased risks of developing cardiovascular disease. ⋯ We observed a higher incidence of developing heart failure in Taiwanese adults with osteoporosis, especially in those with chronic comorbidities. There might be linking pathophysiology and mechanisms from osteoporosis to heart failure.
