Patients with active cancer and venous thromboembolism (VTE) have elevated risk of recurrent VTE (rVTE) and major bleeding (MB). The risk is even higher within those with a prior bleeding event or renal disease. There is a need to understand the risk of rVTE and MB of commonly used anticoagulants among these high-risk patients. ⋯ The incidence of MB was higher among those with prior bleed or renal disease. Effects of apixaban, warfarin, or LMWH were generally consistent regardless of prior bleed or renal disease status.

Clinical outcomes and medical resource utilization of toripalimab combination therapy versus bevacizumab plus chemotherapy in advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
This study aimed to evaluate the real-world clinical efficacy and safety, economic burdens and medical resource utilization (MRU) of toripalimab treatment patterns compared with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy (BCP) for patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC in China. ⋯ Toripalimab combination therapy could significantly prolonged PFS for patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC compared with BCP, but at the expense of more MRU, costs and AEs.

Limited real-world evidence exists to better understand the patient experience of living with symptoms and impacts of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). This study aimed to (1) describe patient-reported perspectives of NASH symptoms and impacts on patients' daily lives and (2) develop a patient-centered conceptual NASH model. ⋯ Our study provides insights into patients' perspectives of NASH symptoms and their impact on their daily lives. These findings may guide patient-physician conversations, supporting patient-centered treatment decisions and disease management.

Different stakeholders, such as authors, research institutions, and healthcare professionals (HCPs) may determine the impact of peer-reviewed publications in different ways. Commonly-used measures of research impact, such as the Journal Impact Factor or the H-index, are not designed to evaluate the impact of individual articles. They are heavily dependent on citations, and therefore only measure impact of the overall journal or researcher respectively, taking months or years to accrue. ⋯ We also discuss how metrics may be used to evaluate the value of "publication extenders" - educational microcontent such as animations, videos and plain-language summaries that are often hosted on HCP education platforms. Publication extenders adapt a publication's key data to audience needs and thereby extend a publication's reach. These new approaches have the potential to address the limitations of traditional metrics, but the diversity of new metrics requires that users have a keen understanding of which forms of impact are relevant to a specific publication and select and monitor ALMs accordingly.

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic idiopathic disease that causes inflammation of the colon and rectum, progressing with relapses and remissions. Systemic inflammatory index (SII) and pan-immune inflammatory value (PIV) are newly developed biomarkers. There are many studies in the literature showing the relationship between SII and PIV with malignancies and inflammatory diseases. In this study we aimed to determine the relationship between SII and PIV with the activity of ulcerative colitis. ⋯ Based on the results of our study, we found that SII and PIV levels were significantly increased in ulcerative colitis patients at the time of diagnosis and were associated with disease severity in the endoscopic scores RACHMILEWITZ, UCEIS and DUBLIN scores, but not for MES score.
