Total knee arthroplasty with rotating-hinge Endo-Model prosthesis: clinical results in complex primary and revision surgery.
Rotating-hinge knee implants are highly constrained devices able to provide the stability needed for arthroplasty in case of severe bone loss and complex instability. Notable doubts still exist in using rotating-hinge devices, mainly due to risk of mechanical failure and risk of infection. ⋯ Coherent with previously published works, we confirm the Endo-Model prosthesis to provide excellent pain relief, restoration of walking capacity and intrinsic knee stability both in complex primary and in revision knee arthroplasty, with good or excellent results in the majority of patients and acceptable complication rate.

Review Meta AnalysisFunctional outcomes and quality of life in patients with osteosarcoma treated with amputation versus limb-salvage surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To perform a meta-analysis for comparing the functional outcomes and quality of life (QOL) of osteosarcoma patients receiving amputation or limb-salvage surgeries. ⋯ This meta-analysis including six high-quality studies indicates that amputation and limb-salvage surgery provide similar functional outcomes and quality of life for patients with osteosarcomas.

Meta AnalysisOperative versus nonoperative treatment for displaced midshaft clavicular fractures: a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
There is insufficient evidence to indicate whether operative or nonoperative treatment is better for treating displaced midshaft clavicular fractures. We undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to compare the effects of the two treatments. ⋯ Operative treatment provided a significantly better functional outcome, a lower rate of nonunion and malunion, but was accompanied with a higher rate of adverse events. However, the results should be interpreted with caution and further large-scale, well-designed RCTs on this topic are still needed.

The treatment of type III acromioclavicular dislocations with a modified Cadenat procedure: surgical technique and mid-term results.
The treatment of type III acromioclavicular injuries is controversial. Both conservative and surgical approaches have been successful. Aim of the present study was to prospectively evaluate the results of the modified Cadenat procedure in subjects with type III acromioclavicular joint injuries. ⋯ 4, Case series.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudySuspensory fixation versus novel transverse crosspin for femoral fixation in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
There is still no gold standard technique for graft fixation during anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. We compared the functional outcomes of patients receiving either ToggleLoc with ZipLoop technology or Translig transverse crosspin device for femoral graft fixation. ⋯ Two distinct techniques used in this study are likely to be suitable for femoral graft fixation during anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with the femoral tunnel being created via anteromedial approach.
