Presurgical motor, somatosensory and language fMRI: Technical feasibility and limitations in 491 patients over 13 years.
To analyse the long-term feasibility and limitations of presurgical fMRI in a cohort of tumour and epilepsy patients with different MR-scanners at 1.5 and 3.0 T. ⋯ • Standardised presurgical motor and language fMRI is robust across various MRI platforms. • Motor fMRI is less dependent on field strength than language fMRI. • fMRI task failures are relatively low and are reduced by paradigm repetition.

Inter-observer agreement for the evaluation of bone involvement on Whole Body Low Dose Computed Tomography (WBLDCT) in Multiple Myeloma (MM).
We aimed to assess inter-observer agreement in bone involvement evaluation and define accuracy and reproducibility of MDCT images analysis in Multiple Myeloma (MM), by comparing two acquisition protocols at two different institutions. ⋯ • MDCT represents a reproducible technique for defining bone disease in MM. • Overall inter-observer agreement is good, even when comparing two different protocols. • Influence of readers' experience on image analysis is partial.

Pulmonary function and CT biomarkers as risk factors for cardiovascular events in male lung cancer screening participants: the NELSON study.
The objective of this study was to investigate the association of spirometry and pulmonary CT biomarkers with cardiovascular events. ⋯ • Pulmonary CT biomarkers and spirometry are associated with cardiovascular events • These pulmonary measurements do not contain clinically relevant independent prognostic information • Only coronary calcium score improved cardiovascular risk prediction above age and smoking.

Cardiac valve calcifications on low-dose unenhanced ungated chest computed tomography: inter-observer and inter-examination reliability, agreement and variability.
To determine inter-observer and inter-examination variability for aortic valve calcification (AVC) and mitral valve and annulus calcification (MC) in low-dose unenhanced ungated lung cancer screening chest computed tomography (CT). ⋯ • Low-dose unenhanced ungated chest computed tomography can detect cardiac valve calcifications. • However, calcified cardiac valves are not reported by most radiologists. • Inter-observer and inter-examination variability of aortic valve calcifications is sufficient for longitudinal studies. • Volumetric measurement variability of mitral valve and annulus calcifications is substantial.

Whole-body MRI for initial staging of paediatric lymphoma: prospective comparison to an FDG-PET/CT-based reference standard.
To compare whole-body MRI, including diffusion-weighted imaging (whole-body MRI-DWI), with FDG-PET/CT for staging newly diagnosed paediatric lymphoma. ⋯ • Accurate staging is important for treatment planning and assessing prognosis • Whole-body MRI-DWI could be a good radiation-free alternative to FDG-PET/CT • Interobserver agreement of whole-body MRI-DWI is good • Agreement between whole-body MRI and the FDG-PET/CT reference standard is good • Most discrepancies were caused by suboptimal accuracy of size measurements on MRI.
