Multicenter StudyFetal outcomes with and without the use of sugammadex in pregnant patients undergoing non-obstetric surgery: a multicenter retrospective study.
The influence of sugammadex exposure during pregnancy on progesterone withdrawal and miscarriage is unknown. We aimed to compare the fetal outcomes in pregnant patients who had undergone non-obstetric surgery with and without sugammadex. ⋯ Having GA with SGX or GA without SGX did not result in different rates of miscarriage or preterm birth within four weeks after the procedure. These findings do not exclude a potential association between sugammadex exposure during pregnancy and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Missing data may have obscured possible adverse outcomes from sugammadex exposure.

Multicenter StudyA multicenter interdisciplinary survey of practices and opinions regarding oral intake during labor.
Different society guidelines diverge regarding oral intake in labor. Our goal was to assess practices and opinions in Israeli labor and delivery units, comparing different disciplines. ⋯ There was a discrepancy between opinions and practices across all disciplines. Permissive practices identified in this survey should be addressed to find the safe middle ground between restrictive and permissive policies for low- and high-risk women.

Multicenter StudyQuantitative blood loss after vaginal delivery: a retrospective analysis of 104 079 measurements at 41 institutions.
Peripartum quantitative blood loss (QBL) measurement is recommended over visual estimation. However, QBL measurement after vaginal delivery has been inadequately evaluated. The primary aim of this study was to determine the characteristics of QBL measurements from a large, multicenter cohort of patients having vaginal deliveries. We also determined the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and the relationship between gravimetric QBL from weighed sponges vs. volumetric QBL from liquid drape or suction cannister contents. ⋯ Results from this large set of QBL measurements and the PPH incidence provide normative "real-world" clinical care values that can be expected as hospitals transition from estimated blood loss to QBL to assess the blood loss at vaginal delivery.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyMaternal temperature in emergency caesarean section (MATES): an observational multicentre study.
Temperature regulation in women undergoing emergency caesarean section is a complex topic about which there is a paucity of evidence-based recommendations. The adverse effects of inadvertent peri-operative hypothermia are well described. Hyperthermia is also associated with adverse neonatal outcomes, an increased risk of obstetric intervention and increased treatment for suspected sepsis. We conducted a multi-centre observational cohort study to identify the prevalence of hypothermia and hyperthermia during emergency caesarean section. S: Participants undergoing emergency caesarean section were recruited across 14 sites in the UK. The primary end point was maternal temperature in the recovery room. Temperature was measured using a zero heat-flux temperature monitoring device. ⋯ Both hypothermia and hyperthermia are prevalent findings in mothers who undergo emergency caesarean section. Therefore, accurate temperature measurement is essential to ensure that an appropriate intra-operative temperature management strategy is employed.
