Comparative StudyVERTEBROPLASTY IN THE TREATMENT OF VERTEBRAL FRACTURES CAUSED BY PLASMACYTOMA.
The aim of this study was to compare and evaluate clinical results before and after vertebroplasty in the treatment of myeloma-induced vertebral fractures. Success of the surgery was defined by increased or reduced pain intensity before and after the treatment, as assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS). The study was designed as a retrospective-prospective study. ⋯ Difference in pain intensity before and after the surgery was statistically significant. All patients complained of pain before the surgery (pain intensity median 8), whereas after the surgery, pain intensity decreased in all patients (pain intensity median 2). In conclusion, improvement in clinical results of the treatment of myeloma-induced vertebral fractures with vertebroplasty proved to be significant.

Breastfeeding Duration as a Predictor of Childhood Lifestyle Habits, Overweight and Obesity in Second- and Third-Grade Schoolchildren in Croatia.
Breastfeeding is related to better overall health in adult life and is one of the commonly described protective factors for childhood obesity. The purpose of this study was to describe the relationship between breastfeeding duration, childhood lifestyle habits, overweight and obesity in a cohort of Croatian second- and third-grade schoolchildren. Randomly selected second- and third-grade children aged 6-11 years (N=5662) were measured for weight and height in order to calculate nutritional status for each child. ⋯ Significant associations were found showing that children who were breastfed for less than 6 months had higher odds for being overweight (ORadj=1.24; 95% CI 1.04-1.47) or obese (ORadj=1.25; 95% CI 1.02-1.53). After adjusting for confounders, breastfeeding for less than 6 months was not found to be predictive of dietary, physical activity or overall health risk behaviors. In conclusion, breastfeeding for longer than 6 months is a protective factor for overweight and obesity in 6-to 11-year-old children in Croatia, but not for healthy lifestyle development.

Meta AnalysisINFERTILITY AND SEXUAL DYSFUNCTIONS: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW.
This study aimed to investigate whether infertility and its treatment affect couple sexuality. A systematic literature review was performed, focusing on female and male sexual dysfunctions due to infertility. The method was descriptive, using a meta-synthesis of scientific research published between 2012 and 2017 in the English language. ⋯ Couples report less satisfaction with sexuality. Since lower satisfaction and dysfunctions are closely connected with infertility and its treatment, couples might benefit from sexual therapy and support during the process of infertility treatment. Further research should focus on the evaluation of different psychological interventions that would address sexuality in couples when diagnosed and treated for infertility.

Review Case ReportsGINGIVAL ULCERATIONS IN A PATIENT WITH ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA: A case report and literature review.
A 40-year-old female patient was admitted to the Department of Oral Medicine due to oral ulcerations. Oral ulcerations were present on vestibular mucosa above teeth 21, 22, 25 and 26 and were 1 cm in diameter, and also around teeth 45 and 46. The patient had prolonged neutropenia due to therapy-related myelodysplastic syndrome that progressed to therapy-related acute myeloid leukemia. ⋯ While viral and fungal swabs were negative, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia was cultured from the oral cavity. Thus, differential diagnoses are listed in this report. Neutropenic ulcerations did not heal albeit extensive medicamentous oral and systemic treatments were applied and the patient died.
