Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyThe Efficacy and Safety of Xinmailong Injection in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure: A Multicenter Randomized Double-Blind Placebo-Controlled Trial.
Objectives: Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a chronic and progressive disease with high incidence. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Xinmailong injection (XI) on CHF patients with B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) ≥200 ng/mL and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of ≤45%. Trial design: This is a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial. ⋯ No deaths occurred in the course of this study. The number of adverse events between the two groups was not statistically different (p > 0.05). Conclusions: XI can alleviate the symptoms, improve heart function, and exercise tolerance in patients with CHF and is safe to use.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffectiveness and Safety of Polydioxanone Thread-Embedding Acupuncture as an Adjunctive Therapy for Patients with Chronic Nonspecific Neck Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of treatment with thread-embedding acupuncture (TEA) using polydioxanone in addition to usual care for patients with chronic nonspecific neck pain (CNP) compared with treatment with usual care alone. ⋯ The results suggest that polydioxanone TEA is a safe and clinically beneficial adjunctive treatment for patients with CNP.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyA Randomized Study of Yoga for Fatigue and Quality of Life in Women with Breast Cancer Undergoing (Neo) Adjuvant Chemotherapy.
To compare the effectiveness of yoga added to standard care (SC) versus SC only, in women with breast cancer during chemotherapy. ⋯ A Dru-based yoga program failed to demonstrate a significant beneficial effect on fatigue. Possible favorable effects of the yoga program on nausea and vomiting and early return to work in breast cancer survivors warrant further research.

Randomized Controlled TrialAnalgesic Effects of Reflexology in Patients Undergoing Surgical Procedures: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
Inadequate treatment of pain in patients undergoing surgery is associated with unsatisfactory perioperative outcomes. The aim of this study was to examine the role of reflexology in addition to standard analgesic treatment in postoperative pain management. ⋯ Adding reflexology to standard analgesic care is effective in reducing postoperative pain at rest and in motion, especially for patients experiencing moderate to severe pain.

Randomized Controlled TrialHappier Healers: Randomized Controlled Trial of Mobile Mindfulness for Stress Management.
Medical students have higher rates of depression and psychologic distress than the general population, which may negatively impact academic performance and professional conduct. This study assessed whether 10-20 min of daily mindfulness meditation for 30 days, using a mobile phone application, could decrease perceived stress and improve well-being for medical students. ⋯ These results highlight that a mobile audio-guided mindfulness meditation program is an effective means to decrease perceived stress in medical students, which may have implications on patient care. Integrating mindfulness training into medical school curricula for management of school- and work-related stress may lead to fewer negative physician outcomes (e.g., burnout, anxiety, and depression) and improved physician and patient outcomes. This has implications for a broad group of therapists and healthcare providers, ultimately improving quality of healing and patient care.
