Meta Analysis Comparative StudyEfficacy of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy for localized and locally advanced upper tract urothelial carcinoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The objectives of this study are to evaluate the available literature regarding the oncologic effect of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of patients with clinically non-metastatic upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) and locally advanced UTUC. We searched PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases in November 2019, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. We included studies that compared patients with non-metastatic UTUC who received either neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy with patients who underwent surgery alone. ⋯ Perioperative chemotherapy might provide better survival outcomes in patients with clinically non-metastatic UTUC treated with radical nephroureterectomy. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy seems to have promising results, although high level of evidence is still lacking. Despite the low level, the body of evidence suggests a need for multimodal therapy of invasive UTUC.

Meta AnalysisCT and clinical characteristics that predict risk of EGFR mutation in non-small cell lung cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To systematically analyze CT and clinical characteristics to find out the risk factors of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Then the significant characteristics were used to set up a mathematic model to predict EGFR mutation in NSCLC. ⋯ Based on the current evidence, GGO presence, air bronchogram, pleural retraction, vascular convergence were significant risk factors of EGFR mutation in NSCLC. And the prediction model can help to predict EGFR mutation status.

Meta AnalysisGoshajinkigan for reducing chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is common and presents with persistent and challenging symptoms for which there is no effective means of prevention. This systematic review assessed the efficacy and safety of Goshajinkigan in the prevention of CIPN. ⋯ Goshajinkigan tended to prevent persistence but not severity of CIPN. Higher quality trials using multiple measures are needed in the future to clarify the preventive effect of Goshajinkigan and to assess the various aspects of CIPN.

Meta AnalysisIncidence, risk and prognostic role of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor-induced skin rash in biliary cancer: a meta-analysis.
Anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-induced skin rash is a common adverse event and is considered a prognostic factor of various cancers. However, the role of rash is rarely known in biliary cancer, possibly owing to the low incidence of this frequently fatal malignancy. We thus performed a meta-analysis to investigate the incidence, risk and prognostic significance of skin rash related to anti-EGFR treatment for biliary cancer. ⋯ Anti-EGFR treatment correlates with an increased risk of skin rash in advanced biliary cancer. Stratifying patients by the severity of rash may have major implications for survival benefit regarding anti-EGFR treatment for biliary cancer.

Meta AnalysisDiagnostic value of tumor markers for lung adenocarcinoma-associated malignant pleural effusion: a validation study and meta-analysis.
Pleural effusion is one of the most common complications of lung adenocarcinoma and is diagnostically challenging. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic performance of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cytokeratin fragment (CYFRA) 21-1, and cancer antigen (CA) 19-9 for lung adenocarcinoma-associated malignant pleural effusion (MPE) through a validation study and meta-analysis. ⋯ CEA, CYFRA 21-1, and CA19-9 play a role in the diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma-associated MPE. The combination of these tumor markers increases the diagnostic accuracy.
