Review Case ReportsSystematic review of warfarin-induced skin necrosis case reports and secondary analysis of factors associated with mortality.
Warfarin-induced skin necrosis (WSN) is a rare (0.0.1%-0.1%) and severe adverse reaction. The clinical characteristics of this reaction and its mortality rate have not been explored in a large population. Therefore, we present the case of a Peruvian patient who developed WSN and perform a systematic review of case reports of WSN. ⋯ This systematic review identified 90 case reports of WSN with three or more affected body regions. Male sex was associated with an increased risk of death. Further studies are needed to analyse and confirm these results.

Randomized Controlled TrialCan zirconia crowns be the first restorative choice after endodontic treatment of primary teeth?
Early loss of primary teeth due to caries can cause temporary or permanent problems, such as occlusion disorders, aesthetic problems, nutritional problems, abnormal habits, and speech disorders. Although the development of restorative materials has led to significant improvements, failures are still frequent. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the success rates of zirconia crowns compared to other crowns for the restoration of endodontically treated teeth with excessive loss of material. ⋯ The clinical outcomes of ZCs were comparable to those of the other crowns. ZCs could be a choice for aesthetic purposes, with the disadvantage of a higher cost.

ReviewA systematic review of cases of West African Crystalline Maculopathy.
West African crystalline maculopathy (WACM) is, reportedly, a rare condition whose aetiology remains unclear. This study aims to describe the epidemiology, summarizing the identified risk factors and clinical characteristics of cases of WACM, with the goal of highlighting presentation patterns and the clinical course of the condition. ⋯ West African crystalline retinopathy is a seemingly innocuous condition affecting black or African people, who were also born in Africa. The majority of the patients have a vascular retinopathy. Longitudinal studies, particularly in Africa, may be required to elucidate the aetiology, as well as the long-term prognosis, of the crystals.

Gastrointestinal complications of COVID-19 have been reported over the last year. One such manifestation is bowel ischaemia. This study thus aims to provide a more holistic review of our current understanding of COVID-19-induced bowel ischaemia. ⋯ Intestinal ischaemia presenting in patients with COVID-19 has to be considered when symptoms of severe abdominal pain are present. More research and guidelines are required to triage patients with COVID-19 to suspect intestinal ischaemia and to help in diagnosis and management.

Meta AnalysisHomocysteine (HCY) levels in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF): a meta-analysis.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common persistent arrhythmia, and its complications include cerebral embolism, arterial embolism and heart failure. Some studies have found that elevated Homocysteine (HCY) levels is a new risk factor for AF. Currently, there is no meta-analysis to explore whether the HCY levels is related to AF. Therefore, a meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the relationship between the HCY levels and AF, in order to draw the attention of clinicians to the HCY levels. ⋯ The meta-analysis showed that there is a significant correlation between the HCY levels and AF, and the role of HCY in AF patients should not be ignored in clinical.
