Randomized Controlled TrialOmega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids supplementation improve clinical symptoms in patients with Covid-19: A randomized clinical trial.
We hypothesised that omega-3 fatty acids would be an appropriate adjunct therapy for alleviating the inflammatory response and clinical manifestation in hospitalised patients with Covid-19 disease. ⋯ Current observations are very promising and indicate that supplementation with moderate dosages of omega-3 fatty acids may be beneficial in the management of inflammation-mediated clinical symptoms in Covid-19 patients.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effect of vitamin D and exercise on balance and fall risk in postmenopausal women : a randomized controlled study.
To evaluate the effects of vitamin D and exercise on balance, fall risk and quality of life (QoL) in postmenopausal women. ⋯ Vitamin D replacement therapy has positive effects on balance and QoL. Core strengthening and balance exercises are essential for better balance and fall prevention in postmenopausal women. Any superior effect of vitamin D or exercise on each other was not determined.

Randomized Controlled TrialKinetics of hydrocortisone sodium phosphate penetration into the human aqueous humor after topical application.
Hydrocortisone is a soft steroid with low anti-inflammatory properties and a short duration of action, used to manage several ocular conditions. The clinical benefits and side effects associated with hydrocortisone are well documented, but its basic pharmacokinetic in the eye is yet to be fully elucidated. The purpose of this study is to investigate the anterior chamber penetration capabilities of hydrocortisone when used in different concentrations as eye drops treatment. ⋯ Considering the frequent need for prolonged topical steroid therapies and the possible consequent undesirable side effects, ophthalmologists should consider the lowest clinically effective dose of hydrocortisone useful to obtain the desired therapeutic effect and in an adequate time, to minimise the amount of steroids into the anterior chamber and to avoid side effects like intra-ocular pressure increase or cataract development.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Controlled Clinical TrialGender, age, disease severity, body mass index, and diabetes may not affect response to subcutaneous tanezumab in patients with osteoarthritis after 16 weeks of treatment. A subgroup analysis of placebo-controlled trials.
To assess the impact of pre-specified patient characteristics on efficacy and safety of subcutaneous tanezumab in patients with osteoarthritis (OA). ⋯ Efficacy and safety/tolerability of tanezumab may not be meaningfully impacted by gender, age, BMI, diabetes status, baseline pain severity or KL grade in the index joint. Conclusions are limited by low patient number in some subgroups. Clinicaltrials.gov: NCT02697773, NCT02709486, NCT01089725.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effect of low dose ketamine on postoperative quality of recovery in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery: a randomized, placebo-controlled trial.
Low-dose ketamine has been proved to reduce opioid consumption, prevent depressant action and improve postoperative analgesia. Women undergoing mastectomy experience may not only have persistent postoperative pain syndromes but also emotional problems. However, the effect of intraoperative infusion of low-dose ketamine on postoperative quality of recovery among these patients has not yet been fully studied. ⋯ Intraoperative low-dose ketamine infusion did not improve the overall quality of recovery on POD 1 in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery.
