We aimed to assess the gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations of patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection and determine factors predicting disease prognosis and severity among patients with GI symptoms. ⋯ More attention should be paid to patients with only GI symptoms for early patient detection and isolation. Moreover, patients with GI manifestations are not exposed to higher rates of disease severity or mortality.

The occlusion site of the cerebral artery can help to determine recanalization success, treatment and prognosis in acute stroke patients. In current studies, different measurement techniques and different length values have been considered. We aimed to determine the relationship between the location of occlusion and recanalization success following endovascular therapy of acute middle cerebral artery (MCA) M1 occlusion. ⋯ Shorter DT was associated with higher rate of full recanalization (mTICI 3) after endovascular therapy. Having a longer DT reduces the chance of successful recanalization without distal embolism. However, there was no statistically significant effect for DT on a favorable outcome at third months or mortality with endovascular treatment of MCA M1 occlusions.

Observational Study
Quality of Life in Patients with Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis: A Study on Physical, Psychological, and Social Status of Patients in Long-term.
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) causes significant problems for patients in the working age and may therefore negatively affect their quality of life (QOL). In the present study, we sought to evaluate the QOL and its predictors in subjects with CVST. ⋯ CVST patients experience an acceptable alleviation of the primary physical disabilities, while residual symptoms, mostly in psychologic/mental domains, impair their QOL.

Meta Analysis
A Comprehensive Systematic Review and Meta-analysis on the Risk Factors of Stroke in Iranian Population.
There are limited data on vascular risk factors (VRFs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). This meta-analysis was completed to summarize the existing evidence on stroke risk factors (SRFs) in the Iranian population. ⋯ The present systematic review and meta-analysis provided a summary of the most important SRFs, which are potentially modifiable and preventable. Overall, Iran, similar to many other LMICs, is experiencing an ever-increasing rate of stroke-prone elderly people. The LMICs are thus suggested to develop national approaches to recognize and address VRFs, to monitor and control CS and OD rates, and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
