To investigate the effect of bone graft volume on postoperative fusion and symptom improvement in lumbar posterior lumbar fusion and internal fixation. ⋯ Size of bone graft granule has no significant effect on postoperative symptoms. However, middle-sized volume bone graft granule (0.1 cm3/granule) showed increased postoperative intervertebral fusion rate and reduced intervertebral space height loss in our study.

To compare self-perceived oral symptoms and clinical (plaque index [PI], bleeding on probing [BOP], clinical attachment loss [CAL]) and radiographic (marginal bone loss [MBL]) periodontal parameters among naswar (NW) and non-naswar dippers (NNW). ⋯ Self-perceived oral symptoms and periodontal parameters were worse among naswar dippers. It is highly recommended that naswar dipping should be considered a potential threat that could have major effects on periodontal tissues.

Acute cholecystitis (AC) is an inflammation of the gallbladder. Tokyo Guidelines (TGs) for the diagnosis of AC classified this condition according to severity as mild, moderate and severe. Therapeutic intervention regulated according to the type of severity. This study aimed to determine laboratory parameters that predict the severity of AC at hospital admission. ⋯ Acute cholecystitis patients with high WBC, BUN, creatinine and INR levels at admission should be referred to an advanced care center for management.

To determine diagnostic accuracy of Cerebro Spinal Fluid (CSF) Adenosine De-Aminase (ADA) in detecting Tuberculous Meningitis (TBM) keeping CSF Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) for Mycobacterium Deoxy Ribonucleic Acid (DNA) as gold standard. ⋯ The study concludes that diagnostic accuracy of CSF ADA in detecting TBM is high which is proposed as an investigation to differentiate it from other causes of meningitis in places where PCR test is not available.

To investigate the effects of laparoscopic surgery combined with triptorelin acetate, gestrinone and mifepristone on pregnancy rate, pregnancy outcome, long-term recurrence and adverse reactions in patients with endometriosis (EMT) complicated with infertility. ⋯ Laparoscopic surgery combined with GnRH-a can improve the success and good rate of pregnancy in EMT patients, reduce clinical symptoms, avoid long-term recurrence, and increase the risk of adverse reactions. Triptorelin acetate is superior to gestrinone and mifepristone.
