To determine the frequency of new-onset diabetes mellitus (NODM) in patients with COVID-19 in a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ A significant number of patients with COVID-19 infection are prone to develop new-onset diabetes during their admission to the hospital.

To assess the effects of in-bed cycling (IBC) combined with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) on arterial oxygen and respiratory dynamics in patients with severe respiratory failure (RF). ⋯ IBC combined with HFNC can significantly improve arterial oxygen levels, lung function, and respiratory dynamics in patients with severe RF. IBC in combination with HFNC is associated with shorter stay time in the ICU, reduced of ICU-acquired weakness, and better physical recovery of patients.

To evaluate the effects of CT to improve HbA1C and ABI among the T2DM-associated PAD population. ⋯ CT showed a two-fold improvement in glycemic control and arterial blood flow than AT group, which represents that CT is an effective therapeutic approach for T2DM-associated Fontain's stage IIa PAD rehabilitation.

To compare the clinical effects of applying a 3D-printed ACT titanium trabecular intervertebral fusion cage and a Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) cage in posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF). ⋯ Applying a 3D-printed ACT titanium trabecular intervertebral fusion cage or PEEK cage in PLIF has the potential to improve clinical symptoms of patients with degenerative lumbar diseases, and restore the Cobb angle and intervertebral height. 3D-printed ACT titanium trabecular intervertebral fusion cage can accelerate intervertebral fusion without increasing operation related complications.

To evaluate the clinical effect of probiotics combined with Ulinastatin and Somatostatin in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis. ⋯ A combined regimen of probiotics, Ulinastatin and Somatostatin is safe and can more effectively relieve clinical symptoms in patients with severe acute pancreatitis, reduce levels of inflammatory factors, lower intestinal mucosal damage and improve the overall treatment effect compared to Ulinastatin and Somatostatin regimen alone.
