To compare the early operative outcome of TOF repair with three contemporary repair strategies of RVOTO repair i.e. TAP, Mono-cusp construction (MC) in TAP and pulmonary valve repair. ⋯ PV repair strategy should be employed for RVOT repair of TOF whenever feasible. MC repair showed fewer hours of postoperative mechanical ventilation and higher incidence of easy weaning from CPB when compared to TAP, however its impacts over ICU stay, Hospital stay and operative mortality is not profound in our TOF repair population.

The purpose of the present study was to compare the topical application of chlorohexidine (CHX) and Metronidazole (MTZ) gels, individually and in combination in patients with gingivitis for up to 12 weeks follow-up. ⋯ Local MTZ gel and MTZ+CHX gel showed effectiveness similar to CHX gel application adjunct to scaling and root planning in the treatment of gingivitis.

To determine the long-term outcome and complications of non-transecting anastomotic bulbar urethroplasty for the treatment of small bulbar urethral strictures presenting at Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi. ⋯ Non-transecting anastomotic bulbar urethroplasty has a good outcome with insignificant postoperative complications in patients with small bulbar urethral stricture disease.

Frequency and assessment of Nutritional Status of school going children in rural areas of Islamabad.
Nutritional status is considered a significant and positive health indicator. It determines anthropometric measurements of preschool children, the height of children at the time of school entry and prevalence of low birth weight. The objective of the study was to determine the frequency of nutritional status and socio-demographic factors influencing under nutrition among school children of rural Islamabad. ⋯ Undernutrition remains an ongoing health problem in school going children of rural Islamabad; particularly in male students of younger age groups. School health programs and nutritional interventions need to be strengthened particularly in rural areas of Islamabad.

To document demographic profile, clinical features and management of patients presented with PPD/Kala Pathar poisoning at District Teaching Hospital Sahiwal, Pakistan. ⋯ PPD poisoning is associated with high rate of morbidity and mortality. Effective clinical management requires multidisciplinary approach. Measures to restrict access to this means of suicide are urgently needed. We need to set up a surveillance system for cases of attempted suicide.
