Sports activities are highly beneficial for improving the human health and reducing the risk of diseases. This cross sectional study aimed to investigate the prevalence of prediabetes and Type-2 diabetes mellitus in cricket players compared to population based non-elite athlete control subjects. ⋯ The cricket sports activities decrease the prevalence of prediabetes and Type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) among the cricket players compared to population based matched non-elite athlete control subjects. The study findings demonstrate the urgent need for promoting sports activities, more cricket grounds as a physiological preventive strategy against the global growing diabetes epidemic.

Myofascial neck pain is a common musculoskeletal problem caused by presence of trigger points and local and referred pain patterns. Chronic neck pain is responsible for the involvement of joints, ligaments, fascia and connective tissue as well. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of Maitland mobilization in patients with myofascial chronic neck pain. ⋯ The study concluded that Maitland mobilization grades (I-IV) are effective in reducing pain and improving functional level of NDI scale and the ranges of cervical spine in patients with myofascial chronic neck pain.

To determine effectiveness of proprioceptive training and conventional physical therapy in managing patients with adhesive capsulitis. ⋯ Proprioceptive exercises along with conventional physical therapy are more effective in managing pain and improving functional activities in adhesive capsulitis patients as compared to conventional physical therapy alone.

To investigate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) combined with escitalopram in patients with depression and its effect on cognitive function. ⋯ Escitalopram combined with HBO in the treatment of depression presents rapid efficacy and a certain effect in improving cognitive function.

To compare the reliability of non-fasting oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) versus fasting OGTT for screening of hyperglycaemia in pregnancy (HIP). ⋯ The use of the non-fasting OGTT at first antenatal visit may be a practical approach to detect the HIP as screening and diagnostic tool in the resource constrained settings.
