To determine immunophenotypic pattern in newly diagnosed cases of acute myeloid leukaemia by flow cytometry and its correlation with morphological findings. ⋯ Flow cytometric analysis of acute leukaemia done by a combination of patterns and intensity of antigen expression improves diagnostic yield in AML. CD13, CD33 and CD45 are the most frequently expressed antigens in AML. Our findings suggest a 90% concordance between morphology and flow cytometry. It is pertinent to conclude that flow cytometry results interpreted with morphology are complementary.

To explore the relationships between expression of CD44v6, lymphatic vessel density (LVD) and the clinicopathological parameters of patients. ⋯ The expression of CD44v6 and LVD in early gastric cancer tissues are in a close correlation with the clinicopathologic features, and joint detection of expression of CD44v6 and LVD can be taken as the indicator of gastric cancer metastasis.

To assess Quality of Life (QOL), and its associated factors between asthmatic children and their caregivers, and determine the correlation between QOL of patients and caregivers, at King Abdulaziz University Hospital (KAUH), Jeddah. ⋯ Uncontrolled asthma was associated with poor QOL of asthmatic child and caregivers. Better management of asthma is recommended to improve their QOL.

To document frequency of non-specific impairment of lung functions (NILF) in patients of HCV and to compare according to gender, genotype, liver fibrosis score and smoking status. ⋯ NILF pattern on spirometry with normal chest radiograph is common among HCV patients. It was found more common in females and frequency increased progressively with fibro scan stages.
