Türkiye is a country with an increasing life expectancy and an older adult population in parallel with the rest of the world. Several national small-scale studies were performed regarding the prevalence and characteristics of dementia in Türkiye, and the results of these studies differ from each other. We aimed to determine the prevalence of dementia in Türkiye to present the demographic characteristics, the frequency of use of health services, and the management of dementia. ⋯ The prevalence of patients living with dementia in Türkiye is lower than the global average. This suggests that most dementia cases are overlooked, highlighting the need to raise dementia awareness both in the community and among primary health care providers who frequently encounter older individuals. The study is significant in that it is the first to show the nationwide frequency of dementia in Türkiye.

To investigate the relationship between sex-related visceral obesity and WHO/ISUP nuclear grade in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). ⋯ Sex-related body fat tissue, including VFA and VF%, could be used for estimating WHO/ISUP nuclear grade in patients with ccRCC, especially in females.

Comparison of treatment methods in patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip.
This study aimed to compare the results of Pemberton osteotomy (PO), Salter innominate osteotomy (SO), open reduction (OR), and closed reduction (CR) applied in the treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). ⋯ Understanding normal and abnormal values by age is essential for selecting appropriate treatments. Acetabulum-related surgeries should be planned for patients over 1.5 years of age with an AA above 30°. Early diagnosis and CR treatments yield excellent results and low AVN rates. Various DDH treatments in our clinic have shown low AVN rates, indicating safety and efficacy.

Association between systemic zinc and oxidative stress levels and periodontal inflamed surface area.
Zinc is a structural component of some enzymes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential associations between serum zinc and oxidative stress levels and periodontal inflamed surface area (PISA). ⋯ PISA values were associated with decreasing serum zinc and TAS and increased TOS and OSI levels. Zinc deficiency can be associated with the severity of periodontal disease and higher oxidative stress levels.

This study investigated serum, vitreous, and anterior chamber fluid electrolyte changes, corneal thickness (CT), corneal volume (CV), anterior chamber volume (ACV), and anterior chamber depth (ACD) as an auxiliary diagnostic method in the identification of drowning in fresh or salt water. ⋯ Anterior chamber fluid Na and Cl levels, especially in corpses removed from salt water, can be an easily used test that can help diagnose drowning.
