Benzodiazepine Use and Long-Term Mortality in South Korean Adult Population: A Cohort Study.
Studies have reported mixed results on the association between benzodiazepine use and mortality. Here, we investigated whether benzodiazepine use is associated with a higher risk of 5-year all-cause mortality, and examined the association between benzodiazepine use and 5-year disease-specific mortality. ⋯ Benzodiazepine use was associated with increased 5-year all-cause mortality in the South Korean adult population. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Venous Thromboembolism in a Single Korean Trauma Center: Incidence, Risk Factors, and Assessing the Validity of VTE Diagnostic Tools.
Trauma increases the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in hospitalized patients. However, the risk and incidence of VTE in Korean trauma patients are limited. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the incidence and identify potential predictors of VTE occurrence in Korean trauma patients. Moreover, we assessed the validity of the Greenfield risk assessment profile (RAP) and the trauma embolic scoring system (TESS) in these patients. ⋯ RAP and TESS, which are well-known diagnostic tools, demonstrated potentials in predicting the VTE occurrence in Korean trauma patients. Additionally, patients with pelvic-bone fractures and long-term ventilator treatment should be carefully examined for possible VTE.

Incidence and Clinical Outcomes of Febrile Neutropenia in Adult Cancer Patients with Chemotherapy Using Korean Nationwide Health Insurance Database.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the episodes of febrile neutropenia (FN) in patients with gastric cancer (GC), colorectal cancer (CRC), lung cancer (LC), and breast cancer (BC); and to identify the incidence and trends of admission rates, as well as factors affecting mortality. ⋯ Careful observation and active prophylaxis should be considered for patients at high risk of FN.

The Efficacy of Mycophenolate Mofetil in Remission Maintenance Therapy for Microscopic Polyangiitis and Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis.
The present study compared the efficacy of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) with that of azathioprine (AZA) in Korean patients with microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) and granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). ⋯ With regard to ESRD occurrence, the efficacy of MMF in remission maintenance therapy was less effective than AZA in patients with MPA and GPA. However, among patients with lower BVAS, there was no difference in the occurrence of poor outcomes between patients taking MMF and those taking AZA.

Negative Impacts of Prolonged Standing at Work on Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Physical Fatigue: The Fifth Korean Working Conditions Survey.
We aimed to investigate variations in the risk of low back pain (LBP), lower extremity muscle pain, and whole body fatigue according to differences in prolonged standing work hours in relation to risk factor exposure and rest frequency. ⋯ Changes in work methodologies are needed to lower the number of hours spent in a prolonged standing posture at work, including being able to rest when workers want to do so, to reduce pain and fatigue.
