Performance of PRISM (Pediatric Risk of Mortality) score and PIM (Pediatric Index of Mortality) score in a tertiary care pediatric ICU.

To validate Pediatric Risk of Mortality (PRISM) and Pediatric Index of Mortality (PIM) score. ⋯ Both PRISM and PIM scores have a good discriminatory performance. The calibration with PRISM score is good but the PIM score displays poor calibration.

Experience of pediatric rapid response team in a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan.

To report our experience before and after implementation of pediatric rapid response team (RRT) in pediatric wards of a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan. ⋯ Our experience with implementation of RRT was associated with reduction in cardiorespiratory arrest, mortality and saved a lot of PICU resource utilization. It is an excellent patient-safety initiative especially in resource-constrained countries by bringing PICU reflexes outside the PICU.
