Meta AnalysisTreatment-related adverse events of PD-1 and PD-L1 inhibitor-based combination therapies in clinical trials: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Numerous ongoing trials are testing anti-PD-1-based or anti-PD-L1-based cancer treatment combinations. Understanding the toxicity profiles of treatment-related adverse events is essential. The aim of this study was to comprehensively investigate the incidences and profiles of treatment-related adverse events across different combination therapies. ⋯ National Key Research and Development Programme, National Natural Science Foundation of China key program, National Natural Science Foundation of China general program, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Initiative for Innovative Medicine, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Non-profit Central Research Institute Fund.

BRCA Genes and Related Cancers: A Meta-Analysis from Epidemiological Cohort Studies.
Background and Objectives:BRCA1 and BRCA2 are genes located in different chromosomes that are disproportionately associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome. Their association with other cancers remains to be explored. Materials and Methods: We systematically reviewed cohort studies to explore the association of BRCA 1 and BRCA2 with various cancers except lung cancer. ⋯ BRCA mutation did not increase brain cancer; colorectal cancer; prostate, bladder and kidney cancer; cervical cancer; or malignant melanoma. BRCA2 increased gastric cancer with RR = 2.15 (1.98-2.33). Conclusion: The meta-analysis results can provide clinicians and relevant families with information regarding increased specific cancer risk in BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of the efficacy of Da Vinci robotic or laparoscopic distal subtotal gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer.
Robotic-assisted gastrectomy has been used for treating gastric cancer since 2002. This meta-analysis was conducted to systematically evaluate the efficacy of Da Vinci robotic distal subtotal gastrectomy (RDG) or laparoscopic distal subtotal gastrectomy (LDG) in patients with gastric cancer. ⋯ RDG is a safe and feasible treatment option for gastric cancer, and it is non-inferior or even superior to LDG with respect to therapeutic efficacy and radical treatment.

The prognosis of cancer patients undergoing liposomal doxorubicin-based chemotherapy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
It is well known that liposome-based delivery of cytotoxic chemotherapeutics has been proposed as a putative strategy to enhance drug tolerability and efficacy compared to the conventional chemotherapy. However, its potential effect on improving prognosis remains largely unknown. The current meta-analysis is to explore the prognosis of cancer patients undergoing liposomal doxorubicin-based chemotherapy. ⋯ Taken together, our finding has demonstrated that there was no association of undergoing liposomal doxorubicin-based chemotherapy with cancer prognosis. However, detailed and further studies are needed to confirm our conclusion.

The predictive and prognostic effects of PD-L1 expression on TKI treatment and survival of EGFR-mutant NSCLC: A meta-analysis.
Whether programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression could predict the outcome of tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment and prognosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is remaining controversial. Potential studies were search from PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Pooled odds ratio of objective response rate was used to describe the relationship between PD-L1 expression and primary resistance to EGFR-TKIs. ⋯ Furthermore, PD-L1 expression was not a predictive biomarker for the OS (HR [95% CI] = 1.43 [0.98-2.08], P = .062) in overall EGFR-mutant cohort. Positive PD-L1 expression indicated a higher incidence of primary resistance, but did not correlate with the PFS or OS of EGFR-TKI therapy. In addition, PD-L1 expression was unlikely a predictive biomarker for prognosis of EGFR-mutant NSCLCs.
