Previous studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine decoction (TCMD) could ameliorate the clinical symptoms and laboratory indicators of gouty arthritis (GA) patients. However, few investigations have been conducted on the efficacy and safety of TCMD for GA, the underlying mechanism of TCMD for GA, and the relationship between the TCMD active ingredients and GA targets. ⋯ TCMD could be a satisfactory complementary and alternative therapy for GA. However, it should be verified by further studies. Future research could be conducted from the following active ingredients, targets, and signal pathways, such as wogonin, sitosterol, and sitosterol; AKT1, TNF, IL6, and TP53; and IL-17, HIF-1, and PI3K-AKT signaling pathway.

Meta Analysis
A meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of the traditional Chinese medicine formula Kaixinsan decoction for depression.
Kaixinsan (KXS) decoction is a traditional Chinese herbal formulation commonly used to treat depression. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of KXS, which is widely used, alone and in combination with other therapies, for the treatment of depression. The main objective was to assess the efficacy and safety of KXS in the treatment of depression as a single agent or in combination with other methods. ⋯ The results showed that the frequency of side effects in the control group was higher than that in the treatment group, and there was a statistically significant difference. KXS was comparable or superior to antidepressants in treating depression and has fewer side effects. The data analysis showed that effectiveness and other indicators differed significantly by geographic area and dosage form, which has implications for future clinical work.

Acupuncture and sleep disorders in Parkinson's disease: A systematic evaluation with meta-analysis.
Parkinson's disease (PD) patients commonly suffer from sleep disorders, significantly impacting their quality of life. Western treatments often entail adverse effects, while acupuncture (ACU) presents a safe, nonaddictive alternative. ⋯ ACU therapy effectively improves nighttime sleep quality in PD patients. A treatment duration extending beyond 6 weeks is highly recommended. Additionally, increasing the frequency of ACU sessions and incorporating electroacupuncture in the treatment regimen may be essential for optimal results.

Influence of therapeutic plasma exchange treatment on short-term mortality of critically ill adult patients with sepsis-induced organ dysfunction: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The impact of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) on short-term mortality in adult patients with sepsis-induced organ dysfunction remains uncertain. The objective of the study is to assess the effect of adjunct TPE in this setting through a comprehensive literature review. ⋯ Our comprehensive and up-to-date review demonstrates that adjunct TPE may provide potential survival benefits when compared to standard care for critically ill adult patients with sepsis-induced organ dysfunction. While results of this meta-analysis are encouraging, large well-designed randomized trials are required to identify the optimal patient population and TPE procedure characteristics prior to widespread adoption into practice.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide, with remarkable advances in early diagnosis, systemic treatments, and surgical techniques. Robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy has been trialled; however, the complication rates, surgical outcomes, and oncological safety of this approach remain obscure. ⋯ Whilst still in its infancy, robotic breast surgery may become a viable option in breast surgery. Nonetheless, the oncological safety of this approach requires robust assessment.
