Randomized Controlled Trial
A randomized controlled trial: The efficacy and safety of Bushen Huoxue formula in the management of lower back pain from lumbar disc herniation.
Lower back pain (LBP) arising from lumbar disc herniation (LDH) poses a challenging health issue, often necessitating therapeutic interventions. Bushen Huoxue formula (BSHXF) has proved as a potential treatment option with great clinical effect. However, comprehensive investigations into its efficacy and safety in conjunction with celecoxib for managing LBP from LDH are lacking. The objective of this article is to investigate the efficacy and safety of BSHXF in the management of patients with LBP from LDH. ⋯ This randomized clinical trial found that BSXHF can help significantly improve the clinical outcomes of celecoxib including pain intensity reduction and lumbar function improvement in LBP patients.

Application effect of behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention on orthodontic patients: A prospective, randomized, controlled trial.
To explore the application effect of behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention in orthodontic patients, so as to provide new ideas for clinical nursing of orthodontic patients. The 70 patients with orthodontic treatment were divided into 2 groups: the control group and the nursing group. Control group received routine clinical intervention, was treated with the normal clinical intervention, while nursing group was treated with behavior cognition and psychology intervention. ⋯ At 12 months after intervention, the nursing group scored lower than the control group on the Hamilton Anxiety Scale and the Hamilton Depression Scale (P < .05), and the score of Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile-II was higher than that in the control group (P < .05). After intervention, the degree of gum swelling and pain in 2 group were notably relieved, and the alleviation degree of nursing group was better than that of control group (P < .05). Compared with normal clinical intervention, the behavioral cognition combined with psychological intervention have obvious improvement in mental state and health behavior of orthodontic patients, and can reduce the symptoms of gum swelling and pain, promote the recovery of gum, showing high clinical application value in improving the gingival health of patients.

Communication and activation in pain to enhance relationships and treat pain with equity (COOPERATE): a randomized clinical trial.
Racialized disparities in chronic pain care are well-documented and persist despite national priorities focused on health equity. Similar disparities have been observed in patient activation (ie, having the knowledge, confidence, and skills to manage one's health). As such, interventions targeting patient activation represent a novel approach to addressing and reducing disparities in pain care. ⋯ Pain intensity and interference improved at 3 months, but differences were not significant after adjusting for multiple comparisons. Most other secondary outcomes improved, but group differences were not statistically significant after controlling for multiple comparisons. Results suggest that increasing patient activation is a potentially fruitful path toward improving pain management and achieving health equity.

Placebo analgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia in patients with Alzheimer disease and healthy participants.
The role of placebo analgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia in patients with Alzheimer disease (AD) is largely unknown, with only few studies in the area. Therefore, this study aims to investigate to which extent placebo analgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia effects are present in patients experiencing mild-to-moderate AD. Twenty-one patients with AD (test population) and 26 healthy participants (HP; design validation) were exposed to thermal pain stimulation on 3 test days: Lidocaine condition (open/hidden lidocaine administration), capsaicin condition (open/hidden capsaicin administration), and natural history (no treatment), in a randomized, within-subject design. ⋯ With a well-controlled experimental setting, this study suggests that patients with AD may not experience placebo analgesia effects. Nocebo hyperalgesia effects in patients with AD needs further research. These findings may have implications for the conduction of clinical trials and the treatment of patients with AD in clinical practice.

Randomized Controlled TrialDexketoprofen versus Tenoxicam in Acute Severe Pain Due to Primary Dysmenorrhea.
To evaluate the analgaesic efficacy of tenoxicam and dexketoprofen in patients admitted to the Emergency Medicine (EM) Clinic with severe acute pain due to primary dysmenorrhea (PD). ⋯ Dexketoprofen, Primary dysmenorrhea, VAS score.
