Clinical presentation and outcome of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease in Nigeria.
Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) is presumably rare in Africa. Knowledge about the disease in Nigeria is limited as demonstrated by scanty articles on the subject. ⋯ ADPKD may not be so rare in Nigeria. Awareness campaign to change attitude of family members to screening and further studies using newer criteria for diagnosis of ADPKD should be conducted.

MR imaging of intracranial solitary fibrous tumor: a retrospective study of 7 cases.
To investigate the MR imaging diagnostic features of intracranial solitary fibrous tumors (ISFTs). ⋯ Diagnostic evidence for ISFT on MR image includes heterogeneous signal intensity, intense enhancement of T2 signal intensity, low signal intensity lines within the tumor, heterogeneous signal intensity on DWI and a ring-like band around the tumor on DWI.

Pyogenic brain abscess in children: a Tunisian multi-center experience.
Brain abscess (BA) is an uncommon intracranial suppurative infectious disease, especially in children. Treatment involves surgery and prolonged courses of antibiotics. ⋯ Our study confirmed the severity of this pathology and underlined the importance of early diagnosis and management.

Antenatal dexamethasone effect on Doppler blood flow velocity in women at risk for preterm birth: prospective case series.
Maternal administration of corticosteroids is essential to improve fetal lung surfactant production and hasten the fetal lung maturity in women at risk for preterm birth. ⋯ Antenatal dexamethasone for women at risk of preterm birth improves the fetal and uteroplacental blood flow at 24 hours after its administration.

Thyroid profile and LDH Isoenzymes as prognostic biomarkers for diabetic and/or obese subjects.
This study aimed to evaluate the levels of thyroid hormones and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) isoenzymes in obese and/or diabetic patients. ⋯ LDH isozymes can be used as valuable diagnostic markers for metabolic syndrome. This may help to explore the metabolic changes associated with obesity and diabetes complication and following up the complication of these abnormalities.
