The clinical relevance of inhalation technique in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients.
Numerous studies show that patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) perform an incorrect inhalation technique (IT). This research aims to describe inhalation errors committed and their clinical importance, and to identify factors related to them. ⋯ Soaring incorrect technique rate, whose most common errors sparingly compromise the drug effectiveness. These errors are related to the way the patients perform the IT, and not to the difficulty in handling the device. This information demonstrates the relevance of training patients in a proper way.

The main causes of failure of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-transplant) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are relapse and transplant-related mortality. Different scores have been designed to predict the prognosis of these patients. The objective of this study was to assess which score or combination has better outcome predictive capacity. ⋯ In patients with AML and MDS submitted to allo-transplant, the combination of HCT-CI and DRI scores provided the best stratification for OS.

Strategies to determine who could be safely discharged home from the Emergency Department (ED) in COVID-19 are needed to decongestion healthcare systems. ⋯ CXR identified pneumonia in a significant number of patients. Those without pneumonia were mostly discharged. Mortality among patients with an initially negative CXR was low. CXR triage for pneumonia in non-severe COVID-19 patients in the ED can be an effective strategy to optimize resource use.
