The Endoscopic Endonasal Transmaxillary Approach to Meckel's Cave Through the Inferior Orbital Fissure.
Surgical access to Meckel's Cave (MC) is challenging due to its deep location and surrounding important neurovascular structures. Currently existing endoscopic endonasal (EE) approaches require dissecting near the internal carotid artery (ICA) or require transposition of the pterygopalatine neurovascular bundle. ⋯ The reported approach provides a less invasive route compared to contemporary approaches, allowing expanded views and manipulation anteromedial and anterolateral to MC. It may be safer than the existing approaches as it does not require transposition of the ICA, infratemporal fossa, and pterygopalatine fossa, and allows access to tumors located anteriorly on the floor of the middle cranial fossa.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyA Pivotal Randomized Clinical Trial Evaluating the Safety and Effectiveness of a Novel Hydrogel Dural Sealant as an Adjunct to Dural Repair.
A watertight dural repair is critical to minimizing the risk of postoperative complications secondary to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks. ⋯ The test sealant, Adherus Dural Sealant, is a practical, safe, and effective adjunct to achieving a watertight dural closure after primary dural closure in cranial procedures.

Morphometric Analysis of the Middle Clinoid Process Using Maxillofacial Computed Tomography Scans.
The interest in detailed anatomy of the sella and parasellar regions has resurged recently due to the wide clinical applications of the expanded endoscopic approaches to the skull base. The middle clinoid process (MCP) is a bony structure that can affect wide endoscopic exposure of the sella and parasellar region. ⋯ A clear understanding of the sellar and parasellar anatomy is crucial for successful and safe expanded endoscopic approaches. This study provides a quantitative anatomic characterization of the MCP in the U.S. population with demographic data analysis.

A Simplified Method of Accurate Postprocessing of Diffusion Tensor Imaging for Use in Brain Tumor Resection.
Use of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in brain tumor resection has been limited in part by a perceived difficulty in implementing the techniques into neurosurgical practice. ⋯ Accurate DTI is easily obtained, postprocessed, and implemented into neuronavigation within routine neurosurgical workflow. This information aids in resecting tumors while preserving eloquent cortices and subcortical networks.

Validity Evidence for the Neuro-Endoscopic Ventriculostomy Assessment Tool (NEVAT).
Growing demand for transparent and standardized methods for evaluating surgical competence prompted the construction of the Neuro-Endoscopic Ventriculostomy Assessment Tool (NEVAT). ⋯ This study provides validity evidence for the NEVAT to support its use as a standardized method of evaluating neuroendoscopic competence during simulation-based training.
