Comparative StudySleep Disturbance Has a Higher Impact on General and Mental Quality of Life Reduction than Nocturia: Results from the Community Health Survey in Japan.
Nocturia has been reported to be associated with sleep disturbance. However, whether nocturia or sleep disturbance has a more negative influence on the quality of life (QOL) of individuals remains unclear. ⋯ We compared the impact of nocturia and sleep disturbance on quality of life (QOL). Nocturia was not associated with general and mental QOL reduction, whereas sleep disturbance was associated with general, physical, and mental QOL reduction.

Prognostic Value of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio in Penile Squamous Cell Carcinoma Patients Undergoing Inguinal Lymph Node Dissection.
Further biomarkers are warranted to improve prognostic stratification of penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) patients undergoing inguinal lymph node dissection (ILND). ⋯ Penile cancer is a rare malignancy in North America and Europe. Therefore, there is a lack of prognostic parameters to help predict oncologic and survival outcomes. In this report, patients with an elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio had an increased risk of mortality.

Poor Follow-up After Elevated Prostate-specific Antigen Tests: A Population-based Cohort Study.
Although prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing is common, little is known about the pattern of retesting by either PSA values or subsequent prostate biopsies. Poor follow-up of high PSA values may lead to delayed diagnosis. ⋯ For men aged 50-69 yr, who undertake a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, a PSA level of >10ng/ml should prompt further investigation. However, we found that one out of 10 of these men did not receive repeat testing within 1 yr of the initial test. This may partially explain why opportunistic prostate cancer testing is less effective than screening trials.

Long-term Outcomes of Follow-up for Initially Localised Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma: RECUR Database Analysis.
Optimal follow-up (FU) strategy to detect potentially curable (PC) recurrences after treatment of localised clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is unclear. This study retrospectively analysed a large international database to determine recurrence patterns and overall survival (OS), as part of a wider project to issue recommendations on FU protocols. ⋯ We analysed data from eight European countries, and found that the incidence of the kidney cancer recurrence and patient survival correlated with clinical factors known to predict cancer recurrence reliably and age. We conclude that these factors should be used to design follow-up strategies.

A Simplified Frailty Index to Predict Outcomes After Radical Cystectomy.
Traditional surgical risk indices are notoriously inaccurate, especially for the elderly, so there has been a trend to evaluate frailty instead. ⋯ This study demonstrated that a simple five-item frailty index can be used to assess preoperative risk in patients undergoing radical cystectomy.
