Demographical, clinical, and psychological differences of patients who suffered hand injury accidentally and by punching glass.
The aim of this study was to compare patients who were injured by punching glass with patients who were injured accidentally, according to demographical, clinical, and psychological parameters. ⋯ Hand therapy specialists should be aware of potential problems in patients who were injured by punching glass.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyExchanging reamed nailing versus augmentative compression plating with autogenous bone grafting for aseptic femoral shaft nonunion: a retrospective cohort study.
The purpose of this study was to compare the outcomes of exchanging reamed nailing (ERN) and augmentative compression plating (ACP) with autogenous bone grafting (BG) for the treatment of aseptic femoral shaft nonunion secondary to the treatment of intramedullary nailing (IMN). ⋯ ACP with autogenous BG can obtain a higher bone union rate and shorter time to union than ERN in the treatment of aseptic femoral shaft nonunion after failed IMN. Especially for nonisthmal femoral shaft nonunions or isthmal nonunions with larger bone defects, ACP with autogenous BG can be more advantageous than ERN for patients. A future prospective observational study should be conducted.

Case ReportsSpinal gas accumulation causing lumbar discogenic disease: a case report.
Vacuum disc phenomenon is seen frequently with degenerative disc disease and is characterized by the collection of gas in the disc space. Although the accumulation of gas within the disc space does not have clinical significance, symptoms may develop when occurring within the spinal canal. We present a 60-year-old female patient with low back and left leg pain occurring for 3 months before admission to our clinic. ⋯ The patient was pain-free on the first postoperative day. In cases of gas accumulation in the spinal canal, discogenic pain may occur. Surgical therapy is still an acceptable method for the treatment of vacuum disc phenomenon and accumulation of gas within the spinal canal.

Percutaneous double-button fixation method for treatment of acute type III acromioclavicular joint dislocation.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the functional and radiological results of patients treated with the percutaneous double-button technique for acute acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation. ⋯ The percutaneous double-button fixation technique is a safe, practical, and effective fixation method that can be used as an alternative to arthroscopic and open methods for acute Type III AC joint dislocations.

Comparative StudyComparison of retrograde intramedullary nailing and bridge plating in the treatment of extra-articular fractures of the distal femur.
The aim of this study was to compare retrograde intramedullary nailing (RIMN) and bridge plating for the treatment of extra-articular distal femur fractures. ⋯ Bridge plating and RIMN have similar results in the treatment of extra-articular distal femur fractures. Both methods can be applied to all fractures, with the exception of Gustilo-Anderson Type 3B and C open fractures.
