Association between microRNA expression and risk of male idiopathic infertility in Iraq.
The World Health Organization defines infertility as the inability to get pregnant after 12 months of unprotected sexual activity. This study was conducted to estimate the levels of gene expression for two mature miRNAs (i.e., miR-122 and miR-34c-5p) to evaluate susceptibility to male infertility. ⋯ Two miRNAs, namely, miR-34c-5p and miR-122, can be used as predictive and diagnostic biomarkers for infertility.

Impact of catheter ablation procedure on optical coherence tomography angiography findings in patients with ventricular arrhythmia.
Catheter ablation procedure may cause retinal complications associated with the risk of thromboembolism. We aimed to evaluate retina and optic disc microvascularity with optical coherence tomography angiography before and after the catheter ablation process in patients with ventricular arrhythmia. ⋯ Although foveal retinal thickness and nasal retinal nerve fiber layer thickness are affected in patients undergoing catheter ablation for ventricular arrhythmia, the stable retinal and optic disc vessel densities can be explained by the administration of effective anticoagulants during the procedure.

Comparison of hepatitis B surface antigen, anti-hepatitis B surface, and anti-hepatitis C virus prevalence in Syrian refugee pregnant women and Turkish pregnant women.
In this study, we aimed to determine and compare hepatitis B surface antigen level, anti-hepatitis B surface, and anti-hepatitis C virus positivity in Turkish pregnant women and Syrian refugee pregnant women residing in Turkey. ⋯ Based on the available data, we think that hepatitis B surface antigen, anti-hepatitis B surface, and anti-hepatitis C virus tests should be done routinely for pregnant women. Raising awareness among Syrian refugees about the hepatitis B virus vaccine as well as encouraging them to be vaccinated may reduce the negative impact of migration.

Investigation of the relationship between fear of birth and prenatal attachment in pregnancy.
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the fear of birth and level of prenatal attachment experienced by the pregnant women. ⋯ In our study, it was determined that as the fear of birth increased, prenatal attachment levels decreased. Initiating and maintaining a healthy mother-infant bond is important for reducing fear of birth.
