Predictors of mortality in patients with geriatric trauma in the emergency service.
In our study, it was aimed to compare the power of trauma scores (Glasgow Coma Score, Revised Trauma Score, Abbreviated Injury Scale, Injury Severity Score, and Trauma Score-Injury Severity Score) in order to predict mortality in patients with geriatric trauma and to determine the predictive values of these scores in mortality. ⋯ Glasgow Coma Score, Revised Trauma Score, Trauma Score-Injury Severity Score, Abbreviated Injury Scale, and Injury Severity Score scores and blood lactate levels are important parameters that can be used in the emergency department for the early detection of high-risk patients in geriatric trauma and the evaluation of the prognosis of geriatric trauma patients.

Relationship between villous atrophy and Wnt pathway gene expressions in pediatric celiac patients.
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease characterized by an abnormal immune response occurring in the small intestine linked to consumption of food containing gluten in individuals with a genetic predisposition. Dysregulation of Wnt signal transduction plays a role in the pathogenesis of many diseases including autoimmune diseases like celiac disease. In this study, the correlation of Wnt pathway gene expressions with each other and the correlation with clinical data were researched in pediatric celiac disease cases grouped according to the Marsh classification. ⋯ Wnt signaling in the early stages of the disease of Marsh 1-2 involves high expression of LRP5 and CXADR genes, while expression of these two genes reduces, and DVL2, CCND2, and NFATC1 gene expressions clearly increase with a transduction variation observed from Marsh 3a stage when villous atrophy begins to form. It appears that the Wnt pathway may contribute to disease progression through expression changes.

Effect of contrast medium on early detection and analysis of mediastinal lymph nodes in computed tomography.
This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of contrast-to-noise and signal-to-noise ratios created by the contrast medium in detecting lymph nodes. ⋯ In the detection of paratracheal lymph nodes, the contrast agent increases the detection of short-axis subcentimeter lymph nodes quantitatively and qualitatively. Contrast enhances and facilitates the detection of paratracheal lymph nodes.

This descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to determine the effect of pregnancy symptoms on the sexual quality of life. ⋯ Our study showed that, as the frequency of symptoms experienced during pregnancy and their impact on daily life increase, the sexual quality of life decreases. We recommend providing education and counseling services to women and their partners about pregnancy symptoms and its impact on sexual life during pregnancy and implementing effective measures to eliminate the negative effects of these symptoms on the sexual quality of life.

Determination of the risk of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in individuals aged 18 years and above.
This study aimed to increase awareness by determining the risk of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in individuals aged 18 years and above. ⋯ The results of this study showed that male gender, increasing age, obesity, presence of chronic disease, and smoking increase the risk of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Defining the risk of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, especially in risky groups, will be effective in planning health care, increasing the effectiveness of treatment, and improving the quality of life. It is recommended to include this diagnosis in health care protocols and to expand its use in order to plan and repeat trainings that will emphasize its importance.
