The World Health Organization reported that cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death worldwide. On average, one person dies of heart disease every 26 min worldwide. Deep learning approaches are characterized by the appropriate combination of abnormal features based on numerous annotated images. The constructed convolutional neural network (CNN) model can identify normal states of reversible and irreversible myocardial defects and alert physicians for further diagnosis. ⋯ Our prototype system can considerably reduce the time required for image interpretation and improve the quality of medical care. It can assist clinical experts by offering accurate coronary heart disease diagnosis in practice.

To examine the feasibility of using pulsatility index-adjusted (PI) flow equations to accurately characterize blood volume flow changes using Doppler technique in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) before and after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA). ⋯ No conclusions can be drawn from the comparison of actual measured volume flow between before and after PTA. However, using the MVF/PIVF relative percentage allows for a more objective framework upon which to base clinical observations and provides clarity in situations where direct measurement provides a counter-intuitive or contradictory picture.

To date, few reports have investigated the genetic alterations and clinicopathological features among gastric cancer (GC) patients with no tumor recurrence, early recurrence, and late recurrence following curative surgery. ⋯ PIK3CA amplifications were more common in diffuse-type GC with early recurrence, whereas ARID1A mutations were more common in patients with single-site recurrence. Targeted therapy and immunotherapy might be helpful for these patients.

A novel extraperitoneal approach exploration for the treatment of urachal mass: a retrospective observational single-center study.
To explore the extraperitoneal laparoscopic urachal mass excision technique and its safety and efficacy in treating urachal mass. ⋯ Our results indicated that the extraperitoneal laparoscopic approach was a safe and effective method to treat urachal mass. Given the limitations of the study, further multiple and larger sample-sized trials are required to confirm our findings.

The disparity between kidney donation and the number of uremic patients on the waiting list has increased the demand for older live-donor kidneys (OLK). However, the donor-recipient age gap may have an impact on the recipient's outcome. ⋯ OLK is safe for young recipients. Nevertheless, adequate immunosuppression should be maintained to prevent rejection and subsequent graft loss, especially for those receiving second kidney transplantation. In contrast, older recipients should avoid overt immunosuppression and control their comorbidities, such as diabetes-related complications to improve their long-term outcomes.
