Amlodipine/valsartan fixed-dose combination treatment in the management of hypertension: A double-blind, randomized trial.
To compare the fixed-dose combination (FDC) of amlodipine/valsartan 5/80 mg with valsartan 160 mg monotherapy for efficacy and safety in hypertensive patients. ⋯ Efficacy of amlodipine/valsartan 5/80 mg FDC was superior to that of valsartan 160 mg monotherapy while both treatments were well-tolerated.

The effect of aspirin on preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction and preterm delivery among healthy pregnancies with a history of preeclampsia.
Due to the significance of preeclampsia (PE) and its adverse outcomes in the health of both mother and newborn, the present study was carried out to investigate the effect of aspirin on preventing the occurrence of PE, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), and preterm delivery in women with a previous history of PE. ⋯ The findings of the present study conducted exclusively on women with previous documented PE revealed that taking aspirin may have a preventive effect on PE in the current pregnancy.

Effect of the infusion rate of propofol on the onset time of rocuronium.
Administration of propofol, especially rapid administration, decreases patient cardiac output (CO) to various degrees. CO might influence the buildup of an effective drug level within the neuromuscular junction and affect the onset time of neuromuscular blockers. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of different infusion rates of propofol on patient CO and the onset time of rocuronium. ⋯ Rapid administration of propofol significantly delays the onset time of rocuronium by altering CO as measured with the Finometer monitor.

Creation of nurse-specific integrated interprofessional collaboration and team-efficiency scenario/video improves trainees' attitudes and performances.
It is importance to train the interprofessional collaboration (IPC) and team-efficiency (TE) of medical trainees. This prospective study evaluates whether implementation of scenario/video-created workshops in integrated IPC and TE (IIT) program provides additional benefits for IPC-TE skills of nursing trainees. ⋯ For nursing trainees, our study suggested that implementation of a scenario creation-based training resulted in additional improvement in trainee' IPC and TE behaviors and attitudes. Additionally, making video of newly created nurse-specific scenario enhances partnership and cooperation among nursing trainees and their interprofessional team members.

A subanalysis of Taiwanese patients from ODYSSEY South Korea and Taiwan study evaluating the efficacy and safety of alirocumab.
Alirocumab can provide significant reductions in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). However, data regarding its efficacy and safety in Asians are limited. ⋯ Alirocumab treatment provided a favorable effect on LDL-C levels and other lipid parameters, and was generally well-tolerated in patients from Taiwan. The results of current analysis were consistent with the overall ODYSSEY phase 3 program.
