According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), all types of body constitutions, except for the Gentleness (i.e., the control group in our study), have disease susceptibility and affect the disease development process. This study attempted to investigate the relationship between TCM body constitutions and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). ⋯ These results confirmed the high correlation between TCM body constitutions and IBS. Because the current treatment for IBS is not entirely satisfactory, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine might provide patients with an alternative treatment option to alleviate IBS.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have promising potential in clinical application whereas their limited amount and sources hinder their bioavailability. Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) have become prominent options in regenerative medicine as both possess the ability to differentiate into MSCs. ⋯ Our research revealed that these iPSCs with high immune compatibility exhibit the same differentiation potential as ESCs, enhancing the future applicability of highly immune-compatible iPSCs.

This study sought to evaluate obstetric complications and perinatal outcomes in frozen embryo transfer (FET) using either a natural cycle (NC-FET) or a hormone therapy cycle (HT-FET). Furthermore, we investigated how serum levels of estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) on the day of and 3 days after embryo transfer (ET) correlated with clinical outcomes in the two groups. ⋯ Our study revealed that although there were significant differences in E2 and P4 levels around implantation between the two groups, there were no significant differences in obstetric complications and perinatal outcomes. Therefore, the hormonal environment around implantation did not appear to be the primary cause of differences in obstetric and perinatal outcomes between the two EM preparation methods used in FET.

Ganoderma lucidum ( G . lucidum ) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine that has shown potential as an alternative adjuvant therapy for cancer patients. However, the mechanisms and adjuvant therapeutic effects of G . lucidum in cancer treatment remain unclear. ⋯ In conclusion, GanoOil is a safe drug that can enhance immune activity in mice to achieve therapeutic effects on cancer, and can also synergistically inhibit tumor metastasis with CTX.

Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is one of the major complications of liver disease and significantly affects the quality of life (QOL) of patients. HE is common and frequently relapses in cirrhotic patients. The management of HE is supportive, and precipitating conditions should be eliminated. ⋯ In addition, the optimal management and diagnosis of minimal HE/covert HE are under debate. In this review, we focus on novel pathogenetic mechanisms such as central nervous system clearance, and emerging therapeutic targets of HE, such as fecal material transplantation. We also discuss different classifications and etiologies of HE.
