Provider perceptions of pharmacists providing mental health medication support in patient-centered medical homes.
To identify primary care providers' (PCPs') comfort level, potential barriers to management of patients with mental health disorders, and attitudes around clinical pharmacist-provided mental health medication-related support. ⋯ Outside of the diagnosis and treatment of depression, PCPs indicate a lack of comfort in treating PCMH patients with mental health disorders. Pharmacists can play a key role by providing mental health medication management support to improve access and address PCMH patients' mental health needs.

Systemic racism is a public health emergency and disproportionately impacts communities of color, specifically black Americans. Pharmacists took an oath to protect the welfare of humanity and protect our patients. As such, to practice truly patient-centered care, pharmacists must recognize racism as a root cause of social determinants of health and use their privilege to educate themselves and their colleagues around dismantling structural racism.

Observational StudyPrescription drug monitoring programs in community pharmacy: An exploration of pharmacist time requirements and labor cost.
To (1) measure the average time community pharmacists require to query prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) reports, and (2) estimate pharmacist labor costs associated with PDMP use. ⋯ Pharmacists require considerably more time to verify CSPs when they query PDMPs. This extra time requirement may challenge community pharmacy operating costs, and also impose time pressures on community pharmacists.

Increasing access to care using clinical pharmacy specialist providers in outpatient mental health: Successful practice integration within the Department of Veterans Affairs.
To highlight the role and impact of the mental health (MH) clinical pharmacist provider in outpatient MH through successful practice integration into team-based care. ⋯ These foundational concepts can be applied to further expand MH clinical pharmacy practice into non-VA settings through the use collaborative practice agreements and integration into interprofessional care teams, providing access to patients in need of MH care.

Successful deprescribing of unnecessary proton pump inhibitors in a primary care clinic.
The objective of this study was to determine the rate of successful deprescribing of unnecessary proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) after implementation of a clinical pharmacist- managed program that included detailed tapering instructions, patient education, and follow-up. ⋯ Deprescribing long-term PPI therapy can be successful in a family medicine clinic when implementing a clinical pharmacist-managed program that includes detailed tapering instructions, patient education, and follow-up.
