Role of radiofrequency catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia in cardiac sarcoidosis: report from a multicenter registry.
Management of ventricular tachycardia (VT) is challenging in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis. ⋯ Catheter ablation of VT in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis refractory to medical therapy is effective in eliminating VT or markedly reducing the VT burden. The disease process in cardiac sarcoidosis often involves a specific area in the basal right ventricle predisposing to peritricuspid reentry.

Prevalence of early repolarization pattern in inferolateral leads in patients with Brugada syndrome.
Recent data have shown a high incidence of the early repolarization pattern confined in inferolateral leads in patients with idiopathic ventricular fibrillation. ⋯ The early repolarization pattern in inferolateral leads is not an uncommon finding in Brugada syndrome. In our population, the early repolarization features were not associated with a worse outcome in subjects with Brugada syndrome.

Heart rate turbulence predicts all-cause mortality and sudden death in congestive heart failure patients.
Abnormal heart rate turbulence (HRT) has been documented as a strong predictor of total mortality and sudden death in postinfarction patients, but data in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) are limited. ⋯ HRT is a potent risk predictor for both heart failure and arrhythmic death in patients with class II and III CHF.

Long-term outcomes of left bundle branch block in high-risk survivors of acute myocardial infarction: the VALIANT experience.
In survivors of myocardial infarction (MI), new left bundle branch block (LBBB) is associated with adverse outcomes, but its impact is not well described in post-MI patients with left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction and/or heart failure (HF). ⋯ In post-MI survivors with LV systolic dysfunction and/or HF, new LBBB was an independent predictor of all major adverse cardiovascular outcomes during long-term follow-up. This readily available ECG marker should be considered a major risk factor for long-term cardiovascular complications in high-risk patients after MI.

Safe and effective conversion of persistent atrial fibrillation to sinus rhythm by intravenous AZD7009.
Acute drug conversion of persistent atrial fibrillation usually fails. ⋯ AZD7009 exhibited dose-dependent effects in converting AF to SR in AF patients and appeared to be associated with a low risk of proarrhythmia despite continued administration during a period of heightened vulnerability.
