Clinical outcomes of whole pelvis radiotherapy and stereotactic body radiotherapy boost for intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer.
We report our experience with Cyberknife to deliver hypofractionated stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) boost combined with whole pelvis radiotherapy (WPRT) to patients with intermediate- to high-risk prostate cancer. ⋯ WPRT followed by SBRT boost using Cyberknife in intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer is feasible with minimal toxicity and encouraging BCF-free survival.

Exercise therapy in oncology rehabilitation in Australia: A mixed-methods study.
Oncology rehabilitation improves outcomes for cancer survivors but little is known about program availability in Australia. The aims of this study were: to describe oncology rehabilitation programs in Australia: determine whether the exercise component of programs is consistent with guidelines: and to explore barriers and facilitators to program implementation. ⋯ Despite evidence to support oncology rehabilitation, there are few programs in Australia and there are challenges that limit it becoming part of standard practice. Programs that exist are multidisciplinary with a focus on exercise with the majority of programs following a cardiac rehabilitation model of care.

A Rapid Access Clinic to improve delivery of ambulatory care to cancer patients.
Cancer patients may find it challenging to access timely advice and care. We evaluated the improvement in delivering ambulatory care in establishing a Rapid Assessment Clinic (RAC) in a cancer center. ⋯ Comparing to ED, RAC had improved timeliness of care, resulting in a lower rate of hospital admission and inpatient length of stay for cancer patients. There was, however, no difference in the management of febrile neutropenia.

Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy and safety of pregabalin in patients with neuropathic cancer pain undergoing morphine therapy.
To evaluate the efficacy and the safety of pregabalin (PGB)-morphine combination for the treatment of neuropathic cancer pain (NCP). ⋯ PGB enhances the efficacy of oral morphine and reduces dose-related adverse reactions. The PGB-morphine combination is an effective approach to controlling NCP.

Randomized Controlled TrialAn East Asian subgroup analysis of PROCLAIM, a phase III trial of pemetrexed and cisplatin or etoposide and cisplatin plus thoracic radiation therapy followed by consolidation chemotherapy in locally advanced nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer.
PROCLAIM, a phase III trial of patients with nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer comparing concurrent pemetrexed-cisplatin and thoracic radiation therapy followed by consolidation pemetrexed, did not meet its primary endpoint of superior overall survival versus etoposide-cisplatin and thoracic radiation therapy followed by a consolidation platinum doublet of choice. The results from an East Asian subgroup analysis are presented here. ⋯ For East Asian patients, pemetrexed-cisplatin combined with thoracic radiation therapy, followed by consolidation pemetrexed, did not improve overall survival but did have a good safety profile with a trend for improved progression-free survival and objective response rate compared to standard chemoradiotherapy for stage III unresectable nonsquamous non-small cell lung cancer.
