The use of high-flow nasal therapy (HFNT) in patients with severe acute respiratory failure (SARF) due to COVID-19 pneumonia (NCOVID-19) is debated. Given the lack of beds in Intensive Care Units in the Public Health System of the Province of Neuquén, their use was implemented in general wards. This restrospective multicenter study was carried out to describe the experience of using HNFT in patients with SARF due to NCOVID-19. ⋯ The general IHM was 48.5% (145/299), 70.4% (93/132) in patients with IMV, 4.2% (5/120) died after successful weaning from HFNT and 100% (47/47) in the group not candidates for intubation. Patients with TNAFO had a statistically significant decrease in MIH and days of hospitalization. TNAFO in general wards achieved a decrease in the use of IMV, with a reduction in mortality and days of stay in hospitalized for NCOVID-19 with SARF.

Infections caused by methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) are still associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Treatment failures of cefazolin (CFZ) have been reported and probably related to the inoculum effect. New treatments for severe MSSA infections are needed and ceftaroline fosamil (CPT) could be an option. ⋯ All patients experienced microbiological and clinical cure with CPT, which was used as monotherapy in 4 and in combination with daptomycin in another. One patient discontinued CPT due to neutropenia on day 23 of treatment. In patients with MSSA BSI failing current therapy, CPT could be a good therapeutic option.

Multicenter Study
[Multicenter study of COVID-19 incidence and determinants in Argentinian physicians].
Information about COVID infection in physicians is limited. This knowledge would allow the implementation of actions to reduce its impact. The objective was determining the incidence of SARSCoV-2 infection in physicians from health institutions in Argentina, its characteristics, and associated factors. ⋯ The number of close contact isolation increased considerably the risk of infection. Living in Buenos Aires City, individual transportation and working in high-risk areas reduced it. Given the high frequency of close contact in the workplace, we strongly recommend the reinforcement of prevention measures in rest areas and non-COVID-wards.

Observational Study
[Comparison between the first and second COVID-19 wave of patients who required invasive mechanical ventilation in an intensive care unit in Argentina].
the information regarding characteristics and ventilatory results comparing the first (W1) and the second wave (W2) in Argentina are limited. The main objective of this study was to describe general characteristics and ventilatory variables in COVID-19 patients who required invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) and compare differences between waves. Secondarily, factors associated with mortality in intensive care unit (ICU) were studied. ⋯ During W2 the patients were younger. It was possible to achieve ventilatory mechanics more adjusted to a protective ventilation strategy. In conclusion, in the patients studied, age and ΔP were independent predictors of mortality.

Acknowledging the rates of endophthalmitis after cataract surgery is very important to understand the seriousness of the disease. Until now, there is no data of this situation in Argentina. The aim of this study was to estimate the incidence of postoperative endophthalmitis after cataract surgery at a tertiary hospital, a medical facility which provides a high degree of subspecialty expertise, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. ⋯ The incidence of endophthalmitis after cataract surgery in this hospital is within the range reported globally. Knowing the regional incidence contributes to decide if new prophylaxis measures are necessary.
