[Early use of tocilizumab in hospitalized patients with severe and critical COVID-19 in the Province of Buenos Aires: a multicentric study].
Tocilizumab (TCZ), an IL-6 receptor antagonist monoclonal antibody is warranted in severe and critically-ill COVID-19 patients. The objective was to evaluate 28-day mortality of patients with severe or critical COVID-19 treated with early vs delayed TCZ. ⋯ This study supports the early use of TCZ in patients with severe or critical COVID-19.

The purposes of our study were to describe the distribution of diagnoses in a series of 273 patients over 65 years of age who presented for neck masses and to identify semiological features associated with malignancy. ⋯ In the case of a neck mass in an elderly patient, its neoplastic origin should be strongly suspected.

New embracing approach for better advanced cancer patient comprehensive care.
Cancer patients have multiple and complex needs. Argentina has a medium-high cancer incidence. Only 14% of patients with palliative care needs have access to specialized services. This study aimed to develop and implement an integrated cancer care model in three hospitals and at home based care level. ⋯ This study showed that a predictive model is feasible, improving chances for timely referral and needs approach. It provided the basis for further implementation research and should encourage policymakers for embracing palliative model development for better cancer patient care.

To analyze the underlying components of reduced maximal static inspiratory (MIP) and expiratory (MEP) pressures in subjects with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. ⋯ In subjects with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the intrinsic weakness of respiratory muscles and mechanical disadvantage lead to inadequate maximal static pressure generation. Maximal static pressures should be interpreted cautiously as they overestimate respiratory muscle weakness when compared to predicted values obtained at TLC and RV. Our results provide additional data supporting absolute values use rather than predicted values.

Immediate completion lymph node dissection (CLND) performed in patients with a positive sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) cutaneous melanoma is not associated with improved melanoma specific survival versus active surveillance (AS) using nodal ultrasound. Clinical practice experience and outcomes of AS and adjuvant therapy is now starting to be published in literature. ⋯ Active surveillance strategy has been adopted for most positive-SLNB cutaneous melanoma patients. Adjuvant therapy without immediate CLND was delivered in nearly 70% of patients. Our results align with outcomes of randomized control trials and previous real-world data.
