Multicenter Study Observational StudyFractional flow reserve calculation from 3-dimensional quantitative coronary angiography and TIMI frame count: a fast computer model to quantify the functional significance of moderately obstructed coronary arteries.
This study sought to present a novel computer model for fast computation of myocardial fractional flow reserve (FFR) and to evaluate it in patients with intermediate coronary stenoses. ⋯ Computation of FFRQCA is a novel method that allows the assessment of the functional significance of intermediate stenosis. It may emerge as a safe, efficient, and cost-reducing tool for evaluation of coronary stenosis severity during diagnostic angiography.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEarly regression of severe left ventricular hypertrophy after transcatheter aortic valve replacement is associated with decreased hospitalizations.
This study sought to examine the relationship between left ventricular mass (LVM) regression and clinical outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). ⋯ In high-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis and severe LV hypertrophy undergoing TAVR, those with greater early LVM regression had one-half the rate of rehospitalization over the subsequent year compared to those with lesser regression.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyAssociation of beta-blocker therapy at discharge with clinical outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
This study sought to investigate the association of beta-blocker therapy at discharge with clinical outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ Beta-blocker therapy at discharge was associated with improved survival in STEMI patients treated with primary PCI. Our results support the current American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines, which recommend long-term beta-blocker therapy in all patients with STEMI regardless of reperfusion therapy or risk profile.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Observational StudyLong-term clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention versus coronary artery bypass grafting for ostial/midshaft lesions in unprotected left main coronary artery from the DELTA registry: a multicenter registry evaluating percutaneous coronary intervention versus coronary artery bypass grafting for left main treatment.
The aim of this study was to report the long-term clinical outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stents (DES) versus coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for ostial/midshaft lesions in an unprotected left main coronary artery (ULMCA). ⋯ This study demonstrates that PCI for ostial/midshaft lesions in an ULMCA is associated with clinical outcomes comparable to those observed with CABG at long-term follow-up, despite the use of older first-generation DES.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyImpact of nonculprit vessel myocardial perfusion on outcomes of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for acute coronary syndromes: analysis from the ACUITY trial (Acute Catheterization and Urgent Intervention Triage Strategy).
This study evaluated the impact of nonculprit vessel myocardial perfusion on outcomes of non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTE-ACS) patients. ⋯ Reduced myocardial perfusion in an area supplied by a nonculprit vessel is associated with increased short- and long-term mortality rates in NSTE-ACS patients undergoing PCI. Furthermore, worst nonculprit MBG is able to risk-stratify patients with normal baseline flow of the culprit vessel.
