Equal performance of aspiration and stent retriever thrombectomy in daily stroke treatment.
Mechanical thrombectomy with stent retrievers has proved to be safe and effective in endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Direct aspiration has shown revascularization rates comparable to those of stent retrievers in the recent ASTER and COMPASS trials. However, the efficacy of aspiration in routine clinical practice has not yet been shown. ⋯ Direct aspiration shows clinical outcomes equal to those of stent retriever thrombectomy in our large multicenter real-life cohort. We found no difference in complication rates and shorter procedure times for aspiration.

Factors that determine aneurysm occlusion after embolization with the Woven EndoBridge (WEB).
The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is a novel endovascular tool for the treatment of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms. ⋯ The WEB provides a high rate of adequate occlusion even in a subset of complex wide-necked intracranial aneurysms. Anatomic results tend to be less favourable in large and partially thrombosed aneurysms and after treatment with WEB and coil.

Treatment strategies for recurrent and residual aneurysms after Woven Endobridge implantation.
Woven Endobridge (WEB) embolization is a safe and efficient technique for endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms. However, the management of aneurysm recurrence after WEB placement has not been well described to date. We present our multicenter experience of endovascular retreatment of aneurysm recurrence after WEB implantation. ⋯ This pilot study shows that endovascular retreatment of recurrent or residual aneurysms after WEB implantation can be done safely and can achieve adequate occlusion rates.

Effect of routing paradigm on patient-centered outcomes in acute ischemic stroke.
To compare performance of routing paradigms for patients with acute ischemic stroke using clinical outcomes. ⋯ Routing paradigms that allow bypass of nearer hospitals for thrombectomy-capable centers improve population-level patient outcomes. Differences are more pronounced with increasing distance between hospitals; therefore, the choice of model may have greater effect in rural settings. Selective bypass, as implemented in Rhode Island and Distributive paradigms, improves system efficiency with minimal effect on outcomes.

SAFE study (Safety and efficacy Analysis of FRED Embolic device in aneurysm treatment): 1-year clinical and anatomical results.
Flow diversion is an innovative and increasingly used endovascular treatment for intracranial aneurysms. Its initial evaluation with the first devices available showed good efficacy of this treatment with variable safety results. The Flow Direction Endoluminal Device (FRED) has a specific design and was evaluated in a single-arm, multicenter, prospective, Good Clinical Practice study: SAFE (Safety and efficacy Analysis of FRED Embolic device in aneurysm treatment).
