Treatment of proximal tibial fractures is known to be difficult. We report our own experience of the treatment of these fractures and evaluate our results. The hypothesis was that the clinical and radiological results were good. ⋯ retrospective study, IV.

We have attempted to restore the arc of motion by considering trochlear-coronoid articulation as a complete circle during fixation of the coronoid, even for comminuted coronoid fractures with partial loss of articular cartilage (CCFPLAC), using various kinds of locking plates. Herein, we report the radiological and clinical outcomes after fixation of the basal-1 type of CCFPLAC (O'Driscoll classification) using our method. ⋯ Level IV, Retrospective case series.

Extra-articular open fractures of the leg often result from high energy trauma. After healing, a painful ankle impingement may occur. In the event of anterior and posterior impingements, arthroscopic treatment may require two surgical positions. We propose an operative strategy to treat anterior and posterior ankle impingement after extra-articular open fracture of the leg. Our hypothesis is that this strategy is simple, effective and with a low risk of complication. ⋯ We propose a surgical strategy adapted to the different clinical presentations of ankle impingement after extra-articular open fracture of the leg.

In April 2022, a new reimbursement scheme for hip fracture was implemented by the Japanese health ministry. Japan is one of the world's most aged societies, facing a significant, rapidly growing burden of osteoporosis and fragility fractures. The incidence of hip fractures is projected to increase from 240,000 in 2020 to 320,000 by 2040. In 2015, Fragility Fracture Network-Japan (FFN-Japan) was formally established as a nonprofit organization in order to create the optimal fragility fracture care system in Japan. ⋯ Within five years of establishment of the JNHFD, FFN-Japan in collaboration with visionary leaders from the Japanese government have successfully achieved a major reform of the Japanese health system's reimbursement of hip fracture care. This reform has laid the foundation for transformation of management of this debilitating and life-threatening injury that currently afflicts almost a quarter of a million older Japanese citizens each year.

The subtrochanteric region is known for its unique biomechanical properties that contribute to challenges in fracture reduction. To ensure optimal fracture healing, achieving robust mechanical stability is essential. There are very few studies in the literature describing the treatment of subtrochanteric fracture nonunion. ⋯ The treatment of subtrochanteric femur fracture nonunion can be a daunting task. The goal is to correct the varus and restore the medial support which will prevent the occurrence of collapse and another failure. We were able to achieve this with both the nail-plate and the plate- structural fibula graft revision methods.
