Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effect of alteplase within 6 hours of acute ischemic stroke on all-cause mortality (third International Stroke Trial).
Prompt thrombolytic therapy with intravenous alteplase reduces disability after acute ischemic stroke. In an exploratory analysis, we examined whether long-term survival varied by baseline characteristics after alteplase. ⋯ http://www.controlled-trials.com. Unique identifier: ISRCTN25765518.

Multicenter Study
Infection after intracerebral hemorrhage: risk factors and association with outcomes in the ethnic/racial variations of intracerebral hemorrhage study.
Risk factors for infections after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and their association with outcomes are unknown. We hypothesized there are predictors of poststroke infection and infections drive worse outcomes. ⋯ There are identifiable risk factors for infection after ICH, and infections predict poor outcomes.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Intravenous autologous bone marrow mononuclear stem cell therapy for ischemic stroke: a multicentric, randomized trial.
Pilot studies have suggested benefit from intravenous administration of bone marrow mononuclear stem cells (BMSCs) in stroke. We explored the efficacy and safety of autologous BMSCs in subacute ischemic stroke. ⋯ URLs: http://ctri.nic.in/Clinicaltrials and http://www.clinicaltrials.gov.
