We identified adult CVST patients in our centers. Functional outcome and prevention strategy were extracted from medical records. Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) ≤ 1 is considered a good functional outcome. ⋯ Functional outcome after CVST appears good. For the patients over 40-year-old, neurological deficit and altered consciousness were more common, accompanied by a higher rate of hemorrhage and mortality. The recurrent rate of CVST was low, longer-term follow up needed. The prevention strategy after CVST was uncertain, further studies needed.

Unstable pertrochanteric fractures are usually treated with internal fixation, and the integrity of the anteromedial cortex is an important factor for stability and healing. In this study, we described and analyzed the three-dimensional mapping technology and morphological characteristics of pertrochanteric fractures. ⋯ The integrity of the anteromedial cortex should be considered during internal fixation of femoral trochanteric fractures. These morphological characteristics could be used to form postoperative cortical contact and improve stability of the fixation. Three-dimensional mapping technology can help establish a typical fracture model, thereby improving doctors' understanding of fracture characteristics.

To identify candidate key genes and miRNAs associated with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) development and prognosis, the gene expression profiles and miRNA microarray data including GSE20347, GSE38129, GSE23400, and GSE55856 were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Clinical and survival data were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) was analyzed via DAVID, while the DEG-associated protein-protein interaction network (PPI) was constructed using the STRING database. ⋯ Survival analysis revealed that 85 DEMs were related to prognosis, among which hsa-miR-1248, hsa-miR-1291, hsa-miR-421, and hsa-miR-7-5p were used for a prognostic survival model. Taken together, this study revealed the important roles of DEGs and DEMs in ESCC development, as well as DEMs in the prognosis of ESCC. This will provide potential therapeutic targets and prognostic predictors for ESCC.

The purpose of this study was to cross-culturally adapt and validate the Simplified Chinese version of the Lower Extremity Functional Scale (SC-LEFS). ⋯ The SC-LEFS has high internal consistency, good test-retest reliability and content validity, convergent construct validity, and a one-factor structure. Thus, it could be regarded as a reliable and valid tool to assess activity limitations in Chinese patients with lower extremity musculoskeletal disorders.

Sympathetic sprouting in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) following nerve injuries had been proved to induce adult neuropathic pain. However, it is unclear whether the abnormal sprouting occurs in infant nerve injury. ⋯ The delayed-onset mechanical allodynia in the infant nerve lesion was accompanied with parallel sympathetic sprouting in DRG. The late parallel expression of glial p75NTR injury may play an essential role in this process, which provides novel insight into the treatment of delayed adolescent neuropathic pain.
