Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyA randomized controlled study investigating static and dynamic balance in older adults after training with Pilates.
To evaluate effects of a Pilates intervention on balance and function in community-dwelling older (aged >60y) adults. ⋯ Although there were no significant between-group differences, participation in the Pilates component of the study led to improved static and dynamic balance. The absence of differences between conditions may be a result of small sample size or the crossover study design because Pilates may produce neuromuscular adaptations of unknown resilience.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyComparison of high- and low-dose corticosteroid in subacromial injection for periarticular shoulder disorder: a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
To determine whether subacromial injection with high-dose corticosteroid in patients with periarticular shoulder disorders is better than low-dose corticosteroid or placebo in improving pain, function, and active range of motion (AROM). ⋯ This was the first study to assess the efficacy of corticosteroid according to 2 different doses, which are the most widely used in subacromial injection for participants with periarticular shoulder disorders. This study showed no significant differences between the high- (triamcinolone acetonide, 40mg) and low-dose (20mg) corticosteroid groups, indicating preferred use of a low dose at the initial stage.

Randomized Controlled TrialEvaluation of a randomized controlled trial in the management of chronic lower back pain in a French automotive industry: an observational study.
To evaluate a specific workplace intervention for the management of chronic lower back pain among employees working in assembly positions in the automotive industry. ⋯ This study reinforces the multiple health benefits of physical activity and physical therapy modalities in the workplace by assisting individuals at risk who have chronic LBP.

Randomized Controlled TrialAerobic exercise training in addition to conventional physiotherapy for chronic low back pain: a randomized controlled trial.
To examine the effect of adding aerobic exercise to conventional physiotherapy treatment for patients with chronic low back pain (LBP) in reducing pain and disability. ⋯ The addition of aerobic training to conventional physiotherapy treatment did not enhance either short- or long-term improvement of pain and disability in patients with chronic LBP.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of burst-type transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation on cervical range of motion and latent myofascial trigger point pain sensitivity.
To assess the effects of a burst application of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) on cervical range of motion and pressure point sensitivity of latent myofascial trigger points (MTrPs). ⋯ A 10-minute application of burst-type TENS increases in a small but statistically significant manner the RPPT over upper trapezius latent MTrPs and the ipsilateral cervical range of motion.
