ReviewThe role of multimodality imaging in the diagnosis of left ventricular noncompaction.
Left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) is a heterogeneous entity and, in reality, a likely spectrum of disease which is clinically associated with arrhythmia, thromboembolic complications and sudden cardiac death. With the emergence of cardiac MRI (cMRI), the phenotype is increasingly more prevalent, resulting in clinical uncertainty regarding prognosis and management. The currently accepted hypothesis suggests an early embryonic arrest of the normal, sequential myocardial compaction process. ⋯ Long-term prognostic data are emerging but due to the intrinsic variability in reported prevalence, selection bias and lack of pathological to prognostic correlation, there are many uncertainties regarding clinical management. This review seeks to clarify the role of multimodality imaging in diagnosis and management of the disease. We discuss the sensitivity and specificity of the current diagnostic criteria, as well as the nuances in diagnosis using the available imaging modalities.

Adaptation to SARS-CoV-2 under stress: Role of distorted information.
Since the time of global SARS-CoV-2 spread across the earth in February 2020, most of countries faced the problem of massive stress of their healthcare systems. In many cases, the structural stress was a result of incorrect allocation of medical care resources. In turn, this misallocation resulted from fear and apprehensions that superseded thorough calculations. A key role in exacerbating the healthcare sector overburdening was played by misleading information on the virus and disease caused by it. In the current paper, we study the situation in Russian healthcare system and advance recommendations how to avoid further crises. ⋯ The most serious problems of Russian healthcare sector related to COVID-19 pandemic, were informational problems. The exaggerated information on COVID-19 had big negative influence upon Russian society and healthcare system, despite SARS-CoV-2 relatively low epidemiological hazard.

SNPs in PRKCA-HIF1A-GLUT1 are associated with diabetic kidney disease in a Chinese Han population with type 2 diabetes.
To explore the relationship between SNPs in PRKCA-HIF1A-GLUT1 and diabetic kidney disease in Chinese Han people. ⋯ Our results suggest potential association between SNPs in PRKCA-HIF1A-GLUT1 and diabetic kidney disease in Chinese Han people.

The impact of tocilizumab on anxiety and depression in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Mood disorders, such as anxiety and depression, are extremely prevalent among patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In this study, we assessed the impact of treatment with tocilizumab (TCZ), an IL-6 antagonist, upon anxiety and depressive symptoms in a cohort of RA patients. ⋯ This study has demonstrated a favourable impact of TCZ therapy on parameters reflecting depression and anxiety severity in patients with RA.

Implementation of the Endocrine Society clinical practice guidelines for gestational diabetes mellitus to a knowledge tool.
Despite the production of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) in many medical areas, their use is not sufficiently adopted in clinical practice. Incorporation of CPGs in knowledge tools (KnowT) or decision support systems (DSS) for routine use can improve healthcare providers' compliance to CPGs. ⋯ Endocrine Society 2013 CPG for GDM is a complete set of recommendations. Its structure makes possible the design of a clinical algorithm and its implementation into a KnowT.
